Suggestion: How to subdue camping at OS
Terrible idea is terrible. Just wait an hour or 2 if someone is camping and you can’t get rid of them.

I think the main consideration here is it is a jumping puzzle in WvW. Players do want to kill you, for the most part, for badges, loot and wvw points …
Personally think the whole idea for having jumping puzzles and PVE achievements in which you have to do them in WvW was a bad idea, most of the time people don’t mind you trying to get the end chest or now cache, but ever sense the newest pirate update people have been camping this jumping puzzle ever sense it came out.

I think that 20-30 minuts is more than enough to complete this jumping puzzle even for new players.
New players that are following a clear guide, maybe. Most new players, no. It took me longer than that my first time through. The area leading up to the dark room is fairly straightforward, but the dark room itself is full of false leads and jumps that don’t look like they should be made. Then you get to the colosseum, where it’s straightforward but takes some incredibly tricky jumps to get through, including a midair turn and a precise running jump. The colosseum alone could take a good 15 minutes even if you’re an experienced player just having a bad day. The final climb is easy.
Mind you, none of that is even taking into account the possibility that you encounter a hostile enemy or two in there. You could be feared off of otherwise safe checkpoints, outright killed, outright camped in the starting area…
You may as well shut off PVP instead of your idea, and I don’t like that.
These are what I think should happen:
1. No gear damage.
2. Sharper “farm code” enforcement, so loot stops dropping after only a couple kills until you leave.
3. No badges of honor. Period. (ETA: No WXP either; after all, this doesn’t even affect the WvW battle in any way.)
This would discourage camping while still allowing for combat, without punishing players for being too slow.

WvW=you get killed in it.
Plenty of JP in PVE for care bears.

This guy was one of the KoM griefers! Ban them!

Ban this guy, please.
Better idea: add one of those stealth fountains to the starting platform where you zone in at. This can at least help players get past kittens that like to camp the entrance, or just help them avoid combat if they don’t want any altercations period.

This isn’t a solution. If one group leave another one will take its place.
I dont mind ppl who camp at entrance. Its not that hard to get to first fountain. But if someone decides to camp at the end of dark room, chandellier room etc. for 2 hours, that a different story. I don’t want AN to prevent PvP inside Obsidian Sanctum, my idea was to reduce number of players camping there.
Why would you go into a pvp map if you don’t intend to pvp?
The valid solution to OS camping is to gather a counter-force and conquer OS for yourself.

PvE players are being forced there if they want to complete achievements.
It’s like putting the only bank in the game at the end of a dungeon and forcing people to run it if they want to get to the bank.
Sure, people can say what terrible people these campers are, but they are not the problem. They are doing what WvW is for – killing other players.
The problem is the same as the bank at the end of the dungeon problem – why the hell did they put it there in the first place?

That sounds simple but it’s harder for people who don’t normally do WvW, don’t have friends there, don’t know where WvWs hangout and don’t know how to gather a counter force. If every random PvEer comes on and asks for WvW people to stop what they are doing and help open up the puzzle, will they do it? The first time you hear it? The 50th time? The hundredth time?
My poor little guild that I have been with for about 3 years is almost dead. Maybe one or two others will be playing at one time and none of us do WvW.

I’d love to see a PvE version of the sactum. It’s instanced now…why not a second instance without PvP. Then everyone is happy. PvE’ers can get their achievement without having to fight players, PvPers can gank each other to kingdom come…and of course, the PvE version wouldn’t have WvW badges or blueprints in the chest, but make it like a regular PvE jumping puzzle chest.

This is exactly what they should do. A PvE version with the jumping puzzle achievement and now the cache and the WvW version where it is now with PvP rewards.
Or make it so you can go in as PvE only and you don’t get any of the PvP rewards.
