My friend recently saw a post I made a week or so ago and suggested to me that I should post it here to make sure it was noticed by the devs so I am kind of forwarding that along as well as another request I have.

My request is simple and to the point so I will start with that. I am an Asura guardian commander. Any chance I can get some platform shoes? Ok, all jokes aside. I am an average commander nothing too special. When I lead I do alright and usually get the job done. But when I lead the biggest problem people tell me I have is that they can’t see me. Which makes following me very difficult. Now when I made my character long ago, I had no idea I would love WvW so much and that I would one day want to command. The thought never popped into my head to maybe consider a taller character. So I am wondering if there would be anyway to maybe put a potion or buff in the game that I could use to make myself just a bit easier to see.

Ok, now for my second thing. I have an idea for the scoring system in WvW. (mostly just cut and pasted from my other post)

Right now everything has a fixed value (other than killing yaks). What if they were not. What if they ramped up over time. But also, you add in a bonus for capturing something which also ramps up over time.

So what this would mean is lets just say that Green just took their garrison. Well that garrison is now only worth +2ppt, and after the next tick it will be worth +4ppt. And then after a bunch of ticks it caps out at its current +25PPT. But what is also happening is there is a second mechanic adding up. This would be the value that this keep would be worth if another team was to take it from green. So lets just say that its worth +10 if you take it before the next tick. And then maybe +15 after that. Finally capping out at like +200 or +300 something like that.

So what would happen is that the longer an enemy would have a tower or keep the more rewarding it would be for them to hold it and for someone else to try and take it from them. I think this would encourage people to go after high value targets while trying to hold onto their own.

You have a several option, people can target you so u will have a red mark or you can transform to ascalon ghost

Even with a target over my head it’s still easy to get lost in zerg vs zerg combat. I will agree though the ghost transform would work. Though I do lose my asura looks which kind of sucks. But it is a good band-aid fix for now.

I’m a commander also with my asura guardian and i know that people complain how they can’t c me in large fights but i think that’s not a big problem if you are using a voice chat for communication and speak loud and clear and if they use mini map from time to time to check the position of their commander.

The only problem with target is it gose away if you die.

whats stopping the opposite side from waiting a while until theyve all left and purging the keep quickly or during off peak? the extra points would be too much of a reward for not directly fighting! this would just encourage zerging and discourage direct confrontations more than they already are (see planetside 2)

i dont think your second idea is a very good idea.

I would suggest an NPC veteran standard-bearer for commanders in WvW…it could display the guild emblem of the commander or a general one if they have no guild. In the long run perhaps commanders could reach have a personalized guild banner. The banner could give buffs like a warrior’s. The banner would also draw the attention of the enemy (maybe the NPC could award extra loot), adding an escort-type aspect to WvW.

Its not just asura, it can be hard to keep track of any commander when there is a lot going on and with large zergs. I personally don’t find this to be a problem, I don’t need to see the commander to follow their tag on the map or see commands in chat. But it would be cool to have something like Ellis hologram from the story (but using the commanders model) following them around, maybe only if they have 25+ players near them to stop huge numbers of giant players.

i dont think your second idea is a very good idea.

Everything generally gets purged by the stronger off peak server anyway. However, a server flipping everything back could keep the higher populated server’s PPT lower unless that server decides to defend their objectives. In short a server would not simply be able to go into a map turn it all their color and enjoy a free +145 PPT per map.

If it takes 2 hours for full PPT value this would actually buy those servers who have little to no off peak populations valuable time. As for the value of points gained for capturing a asset these are just rough numbers they could be adjusted and balanced; however, think about this. During peak hours towers and in some cases keeps are constantly changing hands. Which would lower their overall value a bit to servers who have an off peak population advantage. But if you flip everything to one color and then it sits there for 2 hours and then the other server takes it back.. they are in fact gaining more points.

I honestly think this system could help put an end to the coverage = winner status that we have right now.

As for this encouraging more zergs. Well in my tier that is all there really is anyway. I am thinking this might actually break up the zergs a bit more if suddenly losing a tower is more than just +10 ppt, which you can be recaptured sometimes before the tick. If a tower is suddenly worth 100 points that tower becomes important which means you are going to see more people spread out I think. (or at least I would hope)
