There are skills in the game that root the player. I suggest that Anet removes the root and reduces the movement speed to about 10-15% during the cast of the skill. This would make the skills that root the player a little less annoying and a little more fun. It would also prevent the players from accidentally canceling the skill by moving.

… I still want tengu.

But then if you try to get out of the way of an attack by running, you’ll only move slowly and your attack will continue. It’s annoying to accidentally break a channel, but I’d rather keep the “get the hell out of Dodge” maneuver option.

There are times I can dodge by simply running, which is good when I’ve used up my endurance for the moment. But I have to admit, I never thought about putting the weapons away to turn off a skill.

Still, I think the “can’t move” part of those skills will stay. I think the idea is that you have to accept the risk of standing still and possibly wasting the skill by moving in order to use them.
