Suggestion to guild bank log
www.gwmara.com
This happened to my guild a few months ago. We had no idea who had done it because two people left around the same time. It could have been either of them or even both of them working together. Either way, the exact name would be great to know.
sure would be great to know, though still i dont get why any guild would allow a totally fresh member to withdraw directly from the guild bank…

May not have been a new member, could be a disgruntled officer.
But yeah I dont get why the name would be removed upon leaving or why guilds lack a “last played” indicator.
The guild bank is there for members to take items they need or want from it ._.
So you just put items you don’t want to have there..
I don’t think you’ve understand the point of the guild bank yet..

Yes i do… but i also understand how to add in a layer of security, as in ppl ask the officers if they see anything in there they can use, and the officers mail it to them, it is as simple as that
I agree.
The names that show up in the bank log are the last-logged in. If someone’s account is compromised and then blocked by ANet (and therefore not logging in), you won’t see any name.
It would be better if, at minimum, you always see the account name. If an issue arises, people will be able to view who took what by reviewing the log.
Regarding Oscar’s comment: in our guild, most everything in the bank is valuable, because we use the bank to transfer useful items. Stuff that no one wants doesn’t go in the bank in the first place. We are selective about who gets permission to remove stuff from the bank, but anyone’s account could be compromised.
What would you do with the information if you had it? If someone’s account has been compromised there is nothing that can be done except to contact support, and if you’ve given the culprit permission to withdraw from the bank anyway, then they had permission.
And sorry, but no — not anyone’s account can be compromised. You have to do some silly stuff to make your account vulnerable.
Not saying it would be a bad thing to have, but I don’t really see any usefulness either.

while what you say is completely true, just using a mobile authenticator makes it virtually impossible to get your account compromised, unless your mobile phone is stolen, it still silly you cant see the account name at least

But then what would you do with the information? How would the change help?
I mean, this is something that would take someone’s time to fix, and I can’t see any benefit at all. The guild system needs so much work already for things that would actually make a difference, that I’d hate to see them spending time on something that doesn’t serve a purpose. Like I said, I don’t see any reason to not have the name displayed, but I also don’t see any reason to do so.

While there is nothing that could be done about items already lost, you would at least be able to warn other guilds about inviting this guy in the future (or hell be sure to you don’t invite him again after you get your bank back up)
We found a way to figure this out. Add the names of those who left to your friend list and they will show up on the guild bank log.
I contacted the person but he didn’t care., but on our server forum there is a watch list where people who do stuff like this is added.
We do have officers online almost 24/7 but the guild bank is for the members and we have decided to keep part of it fully open for them to deposit and withdraw, though we do ask that they send stuff higher than gold and money to officers to be deposited in the guild stash which is locked to the members. This will be used for guild events as rewards.
Trusting people is taking a chance, but that doesn’t mean we should put up with it.
