I’ve been thinking quite alot about this in the past days, and would like to hear other people’s opinion about it.
As much as I like the idea of miniatures, I have some problems with the current system.
One of the major things, that bug me, is that I keep forgetting to equip it, because it disappears everytime I change the map. What about, if there was an actual slot in the hero-panel, for one of our miniatures, that gets automaticly displayed when equiped, so that I don’t have to manually do it every 5 minutes I spend ingame.
Furthermore I’d like to give them a more specific role. In some of the past MMO’s I’ve played, pets had unique abilities to them, which I would like to see here aswell.
To give possible examples :
- A miniature, that automaticly loots fallen foes for you.
- A miniature with a seperate inventory, that you can place
food and nourishments in, so that it buffs you, once the
old one expires.
- A miniature, with it’s own little bag, that can carry around stuff,
that would act as a mobile mini-bank.
All of that would help us out, without creating any imbalances. People would get more interested in miniatures, and would even care more about those, that are sold in the gem store.
The last thing, I’d like to add, is to improve the way miniatures run around the world.
They are slower than the player, and often run miles behind you. But even if you’re stationary, they tend to stay far away from you, which creates a dilemma in crowded places like Lion’s Arch. People don’t which miniature belongs to who, and the only way to make sure, is by clicking on the miniature, looking at it’s guild name, and then finding the player with the same one. That defeats the whole purpose of having a rare miniature.
This could easily be solved, by simple increasing the speed, at which miniatures run, and make them stay closer to the actual player, and don’t let them wander of so much.
TL:DR
- Equipment-slot for miniatures, for an automatic display
- Abilities like Auto-loot
- Improve movement, and make it easier to distinguish which miniature belongs to
which player
