Suggestion to increase boss event rewards
One problem is the way you descripe, it’s as if only the last event reward you with something. While the fact that each leg of the chain has already give you its own reward. For example chaining all the events from Cursed Shore entry camp to the temple of Melandru consist of some 7-8 events, each give 10k+ exp, almost 400 karma and almost 2 silver. Counting the loot you likely pick up along the way, even with just vendor you minimumly get 90k exp, around 3k karma and at least 20 silver if you attend the whole chain. This virtually already take care of your concern for amber reward to those participate in the whole chain as to those only jump in the last event.
Heck, some of the big chain meta-events don’t currently have any reward, and/or the reward chest doesn’t appear for players who got gold contribution but happened to be outside of a particular (sometimes quite small) range for the boss when it dropped. I’ve been a part of a number of big mega-event chains in which nobody could find a chest or any other reward after we successfully completed it. It’s quite a letdown.
When a chest does show up (and it really needs to show up for everybody who got a gold for the event, even if they were deathrunning when the boss died, yes I’m looking at you, Metrica Province Fire Elemental), I agree that it should have something a bit better than random blues, especially since greens and higher drop like candy after level 15 or so.
I think it’d be neat if some of the event chains dropped unique armour skins or other flavour items that players could collect by completing events. It’d give people incentive to participate even after they’ve “outlevelled” a zone, and would provide a sense of having done something special.
