Suggestion to solve the botting issue
so let’s see.
your suggestion punishes players wrongfully accused of botting as well as players that are trying to report bots and accidentally report a player farming in a legit way, and to top it off it gives the bot team more stuff to look at (the individual reports each player sent, rather than just the accused player).
this suggestion is a serious downgrade in every possible level.
It’d be nice if it work, but there’s some issues with this method. Sometimes it is difficult to tell if someone is botting or not. If the punishment for a false report is suspension, then people will be less likely to report bots.
Of course, its not like you can remove the punishment either, as then groups of people can grief other players.
I think it’d be helpful (but manpower intensive) to just have GMs of a sort to go to the hotspots and group ban any trains of people with completely wrecked armor. While I know that there are much more sophisticated bots, its these trains that contribute the most items to the economy, and take up the most space on WvW.
For false report you get suspension even NOW!
“Abuse of the report feature may lead to your account being banned.”
Hi,
As already explained by Mike, we are very commited to fighting botters. However, we are not going keep you updated about this situation every hour, or answer personally to each questions you are asking.
As soon as we will have more information to provide, we will keep you updated here. Thanks
