Hello, i have decided to make a post about the current state of the game and the things that that could make it a little bit better in the future. The game has recently came up to a state where a lot of people who rushed to 80 are feeling lack of content(If we may call it so). I am going to mention a lot of things that are being spammed all over the forums, though i want to provide my detailed opinion about them.

PvP
Duels

I have no idea why would you exclude this feature. It just does not make sense to me. The reasons why people would be against it – dueling in high populated areas. A dueling spot in the Mists would be a great way to sort it out, instead you just created a bunch of AI mobs that replicate some classes for training. People are crazy about duels, there is a great chance for them to get to know a certain class, defeat a friend or just hang around while idling and see other people dueling. Dueling zones create a community where people get to know who is a master of his own class.

sPvP

The whole system is just idiotic. You have an example of battlegrounds from various games, taking WoW for example who is running Battlegrounds for a long time. The format is fine, but the way you handle balancing, point give outs just does not make sense. For an example we can look into fps games – the point giving out system makes a lot more sense there where points are more or less useless. Either the penalties should be harsh, the balancing algorithm should not be random(Seems so at the moment).

Tournaments

Here is the biggest issue. Whats the point of winning a tournament now? Why the hell there is no ladder? As a huge fan of PvP, especially arenas(Played WoW arenas since release, Bloodline Champions) i got nothing to do at the current state of the game. Everyone wanted PvP where everyone wears the game gear(measured by stats) so you have decided to make it so that people would have the same chances, no matter how many hours have they spent playing the game. But here comes a big issue, grinding for gear that looks cool is more or less pointless and people start to lose interest in it. A ladder system would fix that for sure, since then people would have two options to head for: Either to rank high in the ladder or to have fun at lower ratings while grinding up their shiny clothes. Most of the fanboys say “It will get introduced, just have patience and learn how to pvp first”. No one wants to wait, the PvP is struggling NOW and people want at least an ETA or some views from ArenaNet’s site on the current issues.

I am not going to whine about class balance, down state and other mechanics that are bad, until there is a serious place to PvP.

PvE

I don’t have much to say here, but most of my guild started playing the game few times a week when they reached 80, just because there is no endgame. Grinding karma is not fun at all, exploration and achievement completion is a temporary thing. It does not feel like there is some sort of continuous thing to do.

I really hope that ArenaNet will release solid statements of their plans and solutions to the most discussed issues about the game content. I know the game has been released for just a few weeks and it is currently still in some sort of “beta” phase, but having a lot of people whine about lack of stuff to do in 3 weeks after the game is sad.

To people who say that the game is fine and it will do so in the future got no clue about what is happening now. WoW was bleeding and should have totally dropped after GW2 released, but it seems that the majority of ex-WoW players are thinking of trying the new expansion out just because they do not see any plans for the issues they want to be fixed.

For those who say: “WoW Fanboi lol gtfo with ur stupid ideas this game is not WoW”. I do not want this game to become WoW, but the main features that the mmo has are essential and no one can deny it.

i wont tel you to gtfo but i would suggest to look to newer mmorpg than wow. wow has had lots of problems at the start to what people seem to forget for some reason, and its verry outdated in my opinion. i think there lots of games out there that are more fun and in better connexion to the posibillity’s of today’s gaming technologies.

Yeah, you just pointed out a point which totally makes your argument wrong. WoW happened years ago, and it had a lot of issues. Nowadays MMO devs can work based on their failures and make a better product, yet they still fail.

The engine is fine, the graphics are awesome. Gameplay wise the game doesn’t lack anything. What i am concerned about is the content.
