Hello.

First off I’m just going to say it, this game doesn’t seem to want their players to socialize.

Was going to make a huge post, but I cba because, well w/e we say won’t happen anyway.

I’ll just post my ideas that would make GW2 have a better community.

  • Chat that doesn’t ban you for pinging WP’s and talking normally.
  • Player to Player trade > Even if you put a 15% fee.
  • Collect on demand player trade.
  • Different chat channels, so people could offer their services and people that don’t want to see it could simply remove the channel.
  • Bigger groups for PvE.
  • Guild Leaders and officers should be able to make squads: Have to purchase some guild upgrade.(Would be way cheaper than commander, but would be for members only)
  • One guild per account.

Just my 2 quaggans. Never played an MMO with so little player interaction, except the normal stuff..(Being able to type, Being in a guild, join a party)

Oh and why can’t we see enemy player names in WvW? The best times I’ve had in PvP is when I meet the same players on a regular basis and remember them, can talk to them and you establish a bond, maybe even become friends.

So much anti social stuff in this game it makes me sick..

Agree to all except one guild per account and seeing enemies names in WvW.

The current guild representation system is great. Not only it is convenient, it is realistic. Nothing in the real world suggests that a person can only be a member of one organization, even if sometimes rules do so. And admit it, despite the name, this game is not really about guild wars.

With regards to not seeing enemy names in WvW, it is also preferable. Firstly, I personally don’t really need to know their names because I won’t be playing with them outside of WvW anyway. It is more consistent with real life wars – your enemy, regardless of his name, is just another member of the opposing army after all. Secondly, knowing the names of the opposite team will just provide an avenue for toxic game play. People will probably start targeting specific individuals if they are easily identifiable with names.

In addition to this list though, I wish there is a system to be able to:
-see a player’s stats and equipment, if the players allows others to see it

No thanks on the one guild per account. There are guilds that are part of an alliance and they occasionally tag under the alliance in WvW.

No thanks for seeing enemy names in WvW. Really not necessary and with the way people behave in this game, I don’t have any faith that they won’t be abusive with it.

I speak for my self and no one else. Only fools believe they speak for a majority.

The one guild per account thing and the names in WvW are bad ideas. The rest I can go along with quite happily.

On the one guild thing, in other games, people joined multiple guilds anyway…they just used different characters, or played on different servers. People have been joining multiple guilds in other games for ages. It’s useful at times. If your guild is good/fun enough, you wont’ have problems. Most of the people in my guild rep the guild most of the time. Usually 90% plus of our guild is repping.

As for the WvW thing, I don’t want to be singled out. I have no desire for that. I don’t want to have a bunch of people following me around and griefing me. I don’t trust PvPers enough to give them that information. And I’m sure some PvPers are mature and nice people but then you have the guys who camp the jumping puzzle, for easy kills.

Not my cup of tea.

I agree with everything except seeing player names in WvW. I remember playing an mmorpg where I had to constantly kill other players to keep my rank in first place, and people incessantly whispered me with hateful insults. They even went so far as to insult the size of my hot dog. I can tell you some of the insults right now. “You’re so ugly, Hello Kitty said goodbye to you”. “Your family tree is a cactus because everyone on it is a prick”. And this is why we don’t show names in WvW.

I’m absolutely all for the one guild per account. Then bring the alliance system back. That was a really good system. And it doesn’t even have to have anything to do with Lux/Kurz or any kind of faction.

But even one guild per character and no alliances would be better than what exists now.

This multiple guild repping thing is probably the very worst feature of GW2. Worse, even, than Ascended gear (that’s saying something coming from me).

I’d like the alliance system back too. I think Guild Wars 2 desperately needs an alliance system, or something very much like it.

But multiple Guild Repping, even with an alliance, doesn’t solve problems. Let’s say, just for argument sake, that you live in Australia and you want to join an Australian guild. But let’s also say that you have insomnia and you’re often up when Australian’s are asleep.

Now that Australian guild may or may not Allie with US guilds. But it’s works for lots of things. RPG guilds don’t usually join alliances with WvW or SPvP guilds. So if I wanted to RP, and I also wanted to SPvP, but not at the same time, I’d be out of luck?

Bad choice. In most other MMOs, characters join guilds, not accounts, so you could join a PvP guild as one character and an RP guild as another character.

The multi guild system is bringing all that out into the open.

Even in Guild Wars 1, had a problem, having to join a large guild to get certain content done, but having to leave a small real life friend’s guild in the process. There was no way or reason for the large guild to allie with my small guild of friends. It sucked to have to leave it, but most of my friends had no interest in doing the harder Guild Wars 1 content.

Agreed to all of the above except needing to be part of a large guild to get content done in GW1.

I particularly like the idea of Guild leaders being able to make squads. Whilst RPing, we are often moving through the landscape. We regularly number 12 - 15 people and having seperate groups means that we can’t see all of us at the same time. This makes it harder to keep an eye on and assist lower levels.

I still don’t understand why we can’t trade between players, I can only assume it’s something to do with gold farmers. It’s frustrating trying to share food out, when it has to be mailed in a daisy chain.

Not being able to create chat channels is frustrating, this is something we relied on heavily in other MMOs. Our GMs would rather not flood guild chat with information that is of no interest to our non-Rpers, but with 2 - 3 groups and no raid chat or custom channel, there is no other option.

Some great ideas from the OP.

I agree with all.

EDIT: Except for the WvW name thing. I realized that it’ll add to griefing.

I disagree with the WvW names, single guild per account idea and player trade. All player trading did in GW1 was lead to a lot of scamming and endless “I need gold plz” spam in chat.

I run my own guild – it consists of me and my alts (got fed up with being spammed guild invites) and I know people who are in multiple guilds – for RP and PvP purposes. GW1’s one account, one guild system was awful.

I stole a special snowflake’s future by exercising my democratic right to vote.
