Looking back how upset the community was about the Fused Skins, and how much people enjoy the implementation of the Super Skins (SAB awesomeness aside – seriously, whoever had the idea, promote them) I’d recommend a compromise between the two methods.

I fully understand and support Anet’s need to make money via Gems and think people who complain about it need a reality check but the RNG nature of it was really disappointing. So, consider this method:

Allow a way, in game, gem free to acquire the item with a high commitment equal to Sub Legendary weapons (ie, Foefire, Aether). Also, allow the skins to be purchased directly W/O RNG at a high gem cost. In addition put a rare drop in BL Chests that give MULTIPLE tickets for non account bound versions.

Players who aren’t going to use gems for whatever reason still have a means of getting them even if it is very consuming. If that is THE skin they really want, they can get it, even if it is a massive effort. They really have no reason to complain at all.

Players who want a single item and will use gems will buy that item, or maybe two.

Players who want multiple items and like gambling can use Chests, especially if they want multiples or if they want to sell the extras which are only available through the Chests.

Also, something to consider: New Legendary Weapons that come from putting 4 of the New Skin Items (like Fused) in the Forge. Further encouraging BL Key purchases for Multiples.

In your post you stated you understood the nature and reason for the RNG. If you did, you’d understand it’s pointless to make this suggestion.

Just put the fused weapon skins for sale directly in the gem shop, say 400 to 800 gems. Then the people who don’t want to gamble can just buy them directly. And no, they don’t need to be high priced like they are some kind of sub legendary weapon. They are just a weapon skin.

Fused weapon skins from Black Lion Chests as a “Random Rare Chance” is messed up and wrong.

I dropped $100 on gems so I could get keys to open chests as I wanted 2 skins for my daggers.

Summary: No dagger skins…bunch of useless junk…and now I can’t defend myself when called stupid!!!

PS – DEVS make other ways for fused weapon skins……..and make Legendaries “LEGENDARY”. Same stats as exotic is not “Legendary”

Well, thanks for the warning…..that sucks I was going to buy some gems for the same reason

Legendaries will upgrade to ascended when ascended comes out, but having even higher stats is not good for the game.

LOL, where did I blame arena net? I acknowledge that I made a stupid mistake gambling on one dropping if you seen “and now I can’t defend myself when called stupid!!!”

Only trying to lend my experience for others to learn from and at the same time I was trying to add my suggestions of offering other ways to acquire them.

WOW I totally mis read that My apologies, I read it the first time as you were complaining and blaming the RNG.

lol, no worries…just posting up here and doubt they see it or even change it…but here’s to hoping!

Well the issue now warpus is any “adding” of fused weapon skins for a set price would “screw” those like you who spent cash money on something RNG. What instead would be nice is if they included a “partial fused weapon claim ticket” with every BLC and it took 100 of them to get 1 regular ticket – but at the same time include RNG to give a regular ticket in lieu of the partial ones. Also – make the partial ones trade eligible – this would drive the TP making it much more attractive to buy more keys and so on.

I only spent 35 keys thus far but I am wanting the fused axe a bit and will sink more money into it. It sucks that we need to gamble like this for ANET to get development money.

If you have an empty character slot, you can do key runs. Human, warrior, commoner. Takes about 30 minutes or so. After reading about people who spent the money for 100 plus chests without getting even one, its hard to justify wasting money for keys. At least this way you only waste time.

Yeah guildies and I were discussing that and were thinking of running all same toons and story lines so the main arcs complete together and reroll after first key reward from arc. But we didn’t much care for the 1 key per time vested. But might do it in the future when bored.

Would love if you could turn in the worthless Tonics that drop from Black Lion Chests for something of use. Those are such a crap roll.
