While I get that the guardian is suppose to fulfill the support archetype in guild wars 2. I feel like a lot of people including myself are really missing the more castery light armor supporter of the group feel. I understand people don’t want a healer in the group but it would be great to get that Healer feel disguised in mechanics that work for guild wars 2.

Artist
Combining Music and Magic and Dance Artist inspire and rejuvenate allies while confusing and debuffing enemies.

The Artist has several utilities at her disposal.

Skill Types

Dances- Dancing are movable skills that have a medium cast time

Routines- Performances that require the user to stand still for a duration creating an AOE affect around the Artist

Songs-Are Channeled skills that can be used while using other skills.

nstruments- Are utility skills that can be used to play a quick song.
i.e. Cry of the flute- Uses a flute to damage and apply torment to enemy.

Weapons:

Staff- Using the staff to bring magic to her powerful dances the artist can heal and inspire allies while damaging enemies
Dance of the monk- Allies nearby are healed and gain protection. (Does not affect you) Small damage to foes

lluminating twirl- Damages and blinds enemies grants rejuvenation to allies. Creates a light field

Warhorn Using the Warhorn to Share their song to debuff enemies.

Song of remorse- causes confusion to enemies and retaliation to allies in the area.

Sword- Artists are not defenseless and they use their agile abilities to strike down foes.

Wailing Weapon- Strike you foe causing weakness and vulnerability

Focus- Channels magic into her dances

Dance of the Dervish- channeling the wind creates wind blades that damage enemies and give allies swiftness.

OH

Warhorn- Uses the Warhorn to grant protection skills to enemies.

Words Of Healing- This song last for 5 seconds allies who enter the radius of your circle are healed for the duration of the song.

Focus-
Sheilding Dance-This dance last for 5 seconds allies who enter the radius of your circle gain a shield of absorption and absorbs projectiles and add +defense. (Skill cannot be used while moving)(Creates healing field)

Special Skills
F1 and F2 are skill that trigger you secondary weapon set allowing you to wield your instruments

Harp- The harp is used to inspire allies

Blissful song- Allies are healed gain rejuvenation and protection for 3 secondkitten

e- Is meant to cause fear for your enemies in the midst of battle.

Song of Battle- allies in area gain might and enemies are vulnerable.

I am not sure what the class mechanic is supposed to be. Could you please expand on it. The biggest thing for any potential class is that the class mechanic is unique and not just a reskined version of another class. The unique mechanic touches every build and is what gives the class is feel. You can skin skills to any theme.

Right now if I read this correctly is that you have 2 additional skill bats tied to activating f1 or f2. This unfortunately is very close to the ele mechanic, the stancelike mechanic butIis a bit weaker. It also has bits of the engineer kits as well.

Ideally you want a class mechanic that doesn’t evoke the other classes

I am not sure what the class mechanic is supposed to be. Could you please expand on it. The biggest thing for any potential class is that the class mechanic is unique and not just a reskined version of another class. The unique mechanic touches every build and is what gives the class is feel. You can skin skills to any theme.

The class mechanic are two Sets of skills that act as your secondary weapon set that are triggered to the F1 and F2.
IE.
Songs of Inspiration: turns your Secondary Weapon set into a harp.

Soo Yes they are similar to the engi and ele but different as you have access to both on a cool down and that are always with you.
So its a mix of both. while still being its on thing.
