Sync Bosses across maps and overflows.
They said a while back why this isn’t doable but i cant remember exactly why .
I’d imagine the whole point to not syncing them is to not end up with massive spikes of bandwidth and server resources.
Are you saying that people camp events and it’s not fun? I agree, that’s why I don’t camp events. I do things that are fun for me. You should do things which you consider to be fun, and I hope that doesn’t mean running the same events over and over each day.
Also, I understand doing Tequatl and Shatterer for a rare, since they are quick and have nearby WayPoints. I do not understand Claw of Jormag at all. It takes 15 minutes for a rare and a chest. On FA, it’s the only world boss that gets full enough to hit overflow. There’s no way it’s worth it. Tequatl for example, if someone in guild chat says it’s up, I spend the 2-3 silver to waypoint there, it dies in 1 minute, I get at least a rare and some junk.
Thank you for the post. I wish it was possible. With our large PvE community on JQ, each Dragon will go to overflow if you try it last minute. The timers on websites aren’t very useful as they get monkeyed with.
For fun, there are only so many events to do. You’re either doing the same cycle in Orr or dungeons really. I spend a lot of time in WvW just porting people and trying to make people happy I wish there was more opportunity in the game.
I agree, it would be great if this could get fixed… it’s not fun to camp a map waiting for a boss and it’s not fun to be overflowed either. I would love to live in this game but I have a job and a wife.
Not sure why you resurrected a 5 month old thread. But it is supposed to start another major event on the overflow if it gets created within 10 minutes of the events start. Had been this way since a little after the invasions started

Ignoring any technical problems, there’s the issue that events are beaten at different rates and that events function on a “time since last completion” kind of timer.
If Servers A, B, and C get an event synced up once, they’ll still complete the event at different rates due to different number of players and different stats and skills of those players.
But anyways, @ OP: It was said that ArenaNet’s looking into making world bosses function like Scarlet’s Invasion for overflow creation, so overflows made within 10 minutes of a world boss popping up would get that world boss showing up.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
an overflow is a whole different server just as each map is a different server. all linked via our giant ingame server which we have a name for. overflows are in a completly different server and are created at odd times and fill with players from any main server which reaches its cap. for example. if kaineg has SB spawn, and their map fills up, they will be sent to an oveflow, where they find that there are also a bunch of stormbluff and isle of janthir players who also were sent there due to overpopulation. this overflow server was created some time ago and has its own SB event which has its own unique timer. coincidence can cause this to sync with a actual servers instance, but asking to sync the overflow with kaineg is like asking the isle of janthir to spawn SB as well and get sent there incase of an overflow. its not ideal and has plenty of drawbacks. overflows would have bosses spawn multiple times an hour in some cases.
