I would like to be able to place a buy order for, say, 1,000 of something in one go (as high as we want).
Currently, you would have to place one for 250, then another one for 250, then another one for 250, then another one for 250. And each time, you have to manually edit the number you want to 250, and the amount you want to pay.
You can see how this would get VERY annoying if you want to buy 5,000 things
This would also free up server resources, because people would be sending 1 buy order instead of 20.
Buying someone’s listed item currently goes a little faster as you don’t have to re-enter how many you want, but this suggestion should still apply to it.

This would be helpful, but in the mean time, try this…..

I have a button on my mouse that double-clicks. I’ll put my price in and bump the qty to 250, then hit my double click button twice on the Submit button. I end up putting in 4 buy orders in for 250….all at once. Basically what I’m doing is using the latency that I have to my benefit. 4 super fast clicks allow me to buy 1,000 at a time.

Every now and then, I’ll end up only getting 2 or 3 buy orders put in at the price I want and another single item at the lowest buy order price. These orders are easy to see and clear out in the “Items I’m Buying” window. I just keep placing orders until I see the # of orders I want to place at the price I’m putting in my buy orders for. When I’m done placing orders….I clear out the trash orders.

Also, a co-worker said that he noticed this as well and started using his laptop over his wireless network to INCREASE the latency and submit even more buy orders at one time. I think he was getting upwards of 1500-2000 at a time.

Just a thought.

They are trying to make it more difficult to move the market on items. As a trader, I could look at an item, see if there is a big enough spread where it would be worth it to buy up all the little orders under and then place a huge sell order higher.

With the 250 limit, it takes a lot more time to create movement where it is near impossible for one person to corner the market on said item for huge profitability.

I’d like to be able to buy larger orders, however, if the 250 limit is in the interest of fairness then I’m fine with it staying the way it is.

Harm: I love it! I doubt by computer is slow enough to provide much help here, and my mouse has few enough buttons to not have a double click, but I should be able to at least get 2 orders at a time.

Marshal: I thought of that too, but realistically – the current 30 seconds to place 20 orders is not that big of a detriment to power traders manipulating the market. Sure, they’d like 1-click, but not having it doesn’t kill their business. Any time I’ve done big buying, the most timely thing is going to each thing I’m buying, not placing the orders.

Speaking of which: how about also being able to open a second TP window? Example: There have been times I’ve wanted to look at what I am currently trying to buy and what is currently available (placing new buy orders for items I’m trying to buy that aren’t at the highest price currently being offered by other people). Looking at your transactions currently clears any search you did. This would probably help the power-trader-TP-manipulator more than the common Asura, but I have wanted it sometimes and I’m by no means a PTTPM. Having it save your last search while keeping that window open would be a nice compromise.
