Why do we have to kill the same person twice? Nearly every 1v1 will result in 2 people throwing rocks at each other on the ground, and some professions have way better skills when they’re downed. (Warriors getting back up, seriously?)

Agreed! Either nerf down the downed skills to lvl of ranger and engineer or remove them. Some professions have ridiclous downed state! If classes have some unbalance these are beyond them.

It’s not just that imo… there are very large imbalances withing downed stats I agree… but it’s also that multiple people can res some one so very fast and promotes zerging.

Actually I like it the way it is. Granted there can still balance out the down state abilities and perhaps give you a suicide button (nothing more annoying then knowing you’re going to die and having to wait 4-5 seconds while someone slowly pew-pews you to death).

Then what the hell is the point?I started discussing this in the Rally topic as well,but does that not mean that 2vs1 should be impossible?In other words,skill in this game does not matter at all.

Actually, downed state increases the skill cap. there is more to think about than just blowing all your offensive CD’s and bursting people down. If you think 1vs2 is impossible, consider the fact that maybe you’re just not that very good, there are many examples of skilled players who are able to win unfair odds.

I am not saying it is impossible,but very unlikely,since even though you take 1 down,the other will outheal your damg and revive him back to full form.Not sure how i am supposed to deal with that?

And unless the other 2 players are greatly inferior players,i do not think that 1 person will win.

YES! +1 MILLION TO OP. Or atleast remove the healing skill when you are downed from PvP and WvW so ppl can be resurrected by other players but not by themselves….I really dislike downed mechanic iam old school so i think when your hp reaches zero you are dead not some downed kitten it just delays me from chasing another opponent because if i ignore downed player he usually teleports him self away and after a while hes up on feet again and thats just wierd imo…
Anet tryed made different MMO but they were too focused on making it different that they made some boring mechanics just to be different. Whats wrong with good old mechanics with alots of spells and diverse item builds and skill builds those things with the evade system and dynamic combat and no downed stage = mindblow! best combat system i can imagine by far…

maybe in PvE, but unless the people you are fighting are pants on head mentally handicapped its literally the worst downed state. If they press 3…. just walk away and watch them die.

I like the idea of downed. The problem is that people can deal way too high damage when they’re downed, take too less damage, and can be healed too quickly.

Whether we like to admit it or not, downed state is a pretty bad design for PVP atm. Self healing, teleporting, mist form, reress, and those skills are fine. What makes downed state a bad design is that you can deal dmg while downed? and you can get ressed pretty fast as well. Wth?

I like the idea of downed. The problem is that people can deal way too high damage when they’re downed, take too less damage, and can be healed too quickly.

The only way to play the engineer is to exploit it.

+1 downed is pretty kitten stuff considering the dmg output is pretty crazy and i think every class has some kind of interrupt to stop you from stomping after the 1st attempt meaning after you down someone it can take up to 8-10 seconds to kill them and if you choose to fight someone else etc… your taking usually 1k or so dmg every second from their downed 1. If someone has been beaten so bad they have fallen to the ground why are they hitting as hard as they did standing up….

im also pretty sure a downed player has like 2x the hp they have when they were “alive” kittens kitten

Downed just needs some balancing. The downed health should depend on your build. They should either give uninterruptable stomp to every class cough necro cough or remove it from everyone. And ofc they should take a good long look at the downed skill balance.

Removing downed would make a good few classes unplayable, especially in defence. The amount of damage incoming to the defenders on top of walls means that anyone exposing themselves to fire would be killed and unrecoverable, especially as the ranged classes tend to have the lowest hit points.

As a staff ele, I reach the downed state a lot, but its rare for me to actually die as my fellow defenders will get me back up, so I can return to the front line. Defenders need the opportunity to recover and continue the battle, especially as they are prevented from getting easy reinforcements by the massive army that is parked on their doorstep.

Like chronometria.3708 said before you can full GC as an ele when you are a defender. You will die often but you are immortal. Its not fair or balance.
NOBODY can kill you when you are an ele and defending an tower when you are downed you just need to use your #2 and can be ressed. You can still enter the teleportingdoor of the tower as an ele, hello?

Keep downed state in wvw but make it so you cannot res any downed/dead player if in combat so you cannot outres the dmg if you get attacked.

Disagree, the downed state adds a lot to gameplay. BUT it is true that some classes just have a ridiculously good downed state while others might as well have a suicide button, this needs to be changed.

Ele has by far the most OP downed state in the game… so ofc an ele doesn’t want it nerfed. You shouldn’t be able to literally not care what so ever about getting downed in those situations. There is nothing you can do to prevent it either as vapor form is instantly available on down.

Also when you’re downed you wipe all conditions… so condition builds are also made weaker by the current downed state. Eles get this TWICE with their vapor form (once on the first down then again after vapor). What… the… frick…

Sure you’ll be more vulnerable and actually care about being downed on defense (again it’s a good thing that you now care what happens when your hp hits 0). From the other side… that zerg that’s pounding on the door… will be far more wary of getting downed… no near insta res because all of their allies just pushed z. It’ll be a good thing to help break up these massive zergs and force them to think more tactically.

I agree with removing it from wvw, you basically die if you manage to go down there (unless your server consists of 10v10).

But it necessary in spvp. The small team encounters are very tedious and something as small as a revive or rally can completely turn the tides in an instant. Warrior downed isn’t op at all, hammer is very predicatble and easy to dodge and you can easily finish them b4 they “get back up”. Ele thief and mesmer probably have the top downed skills but that just means limiting their capabilities not removing them entirley (like why does mist form ignore all cc effects like cripple and chill? More importantly why are you invulnerable for 3 seconds in it?)

Mesmer down may be strong but cond builds counter it so easily.

Ele downed state isn’t immortal, a class with a pull ability who is actually paying attention will just yank you back to them, by that point your 3 seconds is up and you’re a sitting duck. The number of times I’ve been outnumbered and tried to mist form away, only to have a troll Mesmer go “LOLNO” I mean I was probably good as dead anyway but I was this close to throwing myself off that cliff
