Tequatl Empty and Unwanted?
I think some people will keep doing it, I still have trouble getting into main on my home world.
Did it a couple of hours ago, the rewards are total dross.
I think #4 and #6 really point out the lack of logical thought behind bosses in most MMOs today.
First, I’ve never understood how more health equals a greater challenge. I may as well go play Skyrim or Dragon Age at that point so I can just spam healing potions. This game is about movement and proper placement which I rarely see happening, especially on dungeon runs.
There are still tanks in the game which should be turning bosses around away from the group and likewise, what’s the point of dodging if you don’t make use of it? Please review all the lame legendary bosses in the dungeons, especially in the early dungeons like CM, and rework them. No dungeon, except for CoE and up, should have back to back legendary bosses. You should leave the legendary spot for the final boss at the end.
Turn the rest into champions, let them still hit hard, drop the health, and give them some more engaging combat. New skills or just a better thought process of when to use particular skills to actually make the encounter challenging, not the typical “OK, settle in for 5 minutes of tank and spank.”
The rewards also need to be reworked for bosses. I commend ANet on doing their part to curb farming in dungeons and in general while trying to present better options more in tune with their ideas of what game play should be like. Now the realization, you’ve destroyed content in the process.
CoF p1 has nothing worthwhile now. There is little to no loot dropping from the things you kill and the lack of champions means less guaranteed loot. Meanwhile we have other dungeons were you have back to back to back legendary fights which take forever and offer little to nothing in return.
Maybe I’m just not seeing the best end result compared to some more lucky players but perhaps the drop tables need a bit more tweaking. Generally speaking, exotics cost 2-3g on the trading post which is a very minor amount. You make 1/3 of that by running a quick dungeon (30 minutes or so). The last chest should be more prone to dropping exotics and maybe there should be consideration to some new items to drop as well. Maybe some trading post stuff?
The point is making these grand scale events which drive communities to the breaking point because you expect the average person playing this game to be competent is a waste of time and focus. PvE dungeons need to be reviewed and actually fixed in a timely manner, World vs World needs something new that’s actually engaging, and in general the game needs better content updates. I liked some of the living story updates but it gets worse and worse. The Molten Alliance updates were much more engaging and entertaining than Scarlet, who in turn was more engaging than Teq.
Instead of releasing a living story in November maybe just smack us with a whole lot of little content updates like the guild system stuff that’s been cried over or maybe try to revive sPvP by giving real incentive. It feels like all the original content has just been forgotten in the hopes that giving us a new grind every 2 weeks will suffice.

Also, just to add on. This is the gaming era of locusts and ANet needs to realize it. A lot of people, due to it being the internet, would prefer to blend in with the wallpaper and pretend like they can show up for something but do it their way. You gave us commander tags for a reason yet never developed the system. Either focus on smaller content or give the commanders more abilities which will allow us to lead better.
If you expect the gamers you are trying to hold onto with this update every 2 weeks stuff than you have to also encourage them to work together. Otherwise it breaks down into a game of CoD with one group camping and everyone else playing follow the leader with little organization.

It really depends on your server OP. Many high population servers still do it, and with the latest patch increasing its loot table I’m sure people still enjoy the challenge.
The only real issue is people can’t work around the tequatl fight, there is no pre-event and it’s on a timer. Making hard content randomly appear is not inviting. When you release things like the living story you can expect people to be pulled away from the last living story segment, and although that’s not true for all servers, it is for some and that’s enough to raise doubts in “permanent content”.
Add a pre event, and make that pre event behave like seigerazer in wvw, you need players to report in. So sure give the event a rng timer, but it cannot start until enough people start showing up (say 30? idk whats a small yet threatening group size for this event).
Then it will trigger the pre event to do something like clear tequatl’s presense in Fabled Djannor by killing some champs or something, then tequatl responds by attacking once more. If the previous attempt was a success, instead the npc will investigate the risen attacks that are occurring more frequently, leading to Tequatl being the reason and him attacking. This is a group event, it should only start when a group appears. Fits people’s schedule more so and it also prevents small groups from walking in disappointment as they undoubtedly fail because not enough people showed up.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”

I think I am on a pretty populated server but I went back today and it was still empty. I’m not sure what the problem is I’m also pretty sure it has been beaten on my server. But, I do think that once someone does it they pretty much have had it and don’t go back. It’s not worth the time, effort, or trouble.
Well, It’s been 18 days since I posted this and today I went back on Monday about 12:30 in the afternoon. There were about maybe 8 players in Tarnished Coast, not an overflow, doing this boss. I think most people were pretty much standing around waiting for the timer to go off so they could get the daily for doing the battle.
They should just put it back. As it is it just is a waste of time. The way they did it for the new event it has not structure. Players don’t know how to work together enough they need a linear way to work through the battle. You gotta think outdoor dungeon!!!!! The event needs steps to accomplish that build up the doing him. And each step takes at bit off him and makes him easier to kill.
It needs to be separated into about 8-10 smaller events. That can be accomplished by maybe escalating group of players. If there’s 10 people it’s this hard but if there’s 60 then it’s 6x as hard, Some of the events could be happening at the same time so the group would have to split up. More like Claw.
I downed him yesterday… (21/10) well organised and populated fight at mid day! I have done so 3 Days in a row now… (Desolation)
You need 80 to 10+ players to even have a chance of winning. Tequatle is now just a raid for huge guilds. And most of those large guilds do the event in overflow and low populated servers.
