Something I think which would be incredibly useful for dungeons is if we had voice commands.

It occurred to me while playing TF2 how useful it is to press a combination of buttons and direct my team.

I think GW2 needs a similar function where we could press a combination of buttons and our character would call out “Evade!”, or for more advanced play, we could shout things like “Combo Field here!”

Such a feature would greatly emphasize team-based play without need of third-party VOIP.

+1
I can’t always be bothered to use VOIP, and I’m sure there are other players who can’t use them as well for whatever reason. I think something as simple as a macro for chat messages (that don’t appear in normal chat) would help as well.

the one I would add first would be a “voice” asking: "Need healing! Quick! when the 4th skill in downed skill bar is pressed + a ping on the player’s location on the mini-map
But the suggestion is good all in all!

I do like this idea. However I had this thought in a Grenth Temple mission yesturday:
“If this were tf2, imagine how many people would be yelling “MEDIC!” right now."

In all seriousness, they could probably solve this by making it exclusive to you and your party or putting some sort of limitation.

I do hope ANET considers this idea because it would be a great use of the wonderful player-character voices, and it will make communications much easier.
