Another post! I’m on a roll! Also, yes. Konundrum is spelt with a K. If it’s good enough for Mortal Kombat, it’s good enough for me.
This is more to discuss what can be done to improve ‘end-game.’ Note that not all these solutions are mine, but ones I also think are worth checking out.
There’s A Problem With End Game?
Yes, and no.
No in the sense that there’s plenty to do: WvW, Exploration, Events, Working Towards Skins And Titles ect.
Yes in the sense that there isn’t enough VARIETY of these things.
Take events. There are loads of events, but they tend to fall under one of these categories: Gathering; Escorting; Protecting An Area; Killing.
Exploration: Map Exploration; Jumping Puzzles; A Few Easter Eggs.
Working Towards Skins: Mostly Available In The Mystic Forge
So while there’s stuff to do, it’s the lack of variety that makes it feel like there isn’t much to do. And while, yes, this will be added to over time, this is a Suggestion forum, and we might come up with something ANet might not have thought of
Addressing The Issue
Events – More chains, and events that scale in difficulty the more times you complete them, and have multiple threats to worry about:
Also, more variety. A wounded soldier comes into camp, platoon was attacked, they’re still fighting. You get there, there’s no-one there. Now, unless you stop to look around, you won’t notice the tracks leading to an Orr Camp, where they’ve taken the soldiers prisoner. Since the soldiers have been bound, as well as freeing them, you need to assault the camp and protect them. Some might drop keys, in which interacting with F will free that soldier. Depending on the soldier, they’ll flee or stay and fight. Just one example.

Also, more big world monsters.
Order and Pact Tasks
At the moment, aside from the storyline, the Orders and the Pact don’t seem to play much of a part, considering at some point you become high-ranking. This suggestion aims to not only provide an additional source of Karma, but also give these Organisations more importance.
Rather than be Daily Tasks, whenever these tasks are available for people to complete, The Order of their choice, and Pact will send them a letter. Completing this task will then award coin and Karma.
Tasks would vary in theme, depending on the order.
Of course, this could be worked further:
The Order of Whispers needs you to create a diversion so they can sneak in. Being The Vigil, you do what you do best; decide to attack them. You’d have to create chaos for a time period while fighting waves of enemies (kind of like a survival challenge) until they get out of there. A notification will pop up (or maybe an NPC will come running in saying important documents are missing), and that’s it. Task complete. Helping someone with this task (you’d have to be of the same Order to be eligible) would also award you Karma, even if you’re not on it, while if you were on the task with someone else who was on the same task, you’d both get bonus Karma.
How does this tie in with ANet’s idea of all game being end-game? Well, you start getting the missions when you join an order.
Working Towards Skins
Now, this ties up nicely with other activities, since you could give them the possibility to reward rare skins
Again, like my other threads, criticism is welcomed, as are suggestions. Try to keep suggestions in keeping with the philosophy that ‘All Game Is End Game’, meaning activities that could be done throughout leveling, and not just at cap.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
