Hey guys.
I realized that after you’ve done 100% completion on map no one is really ever anywhere else besides Frostgorge Sound or Cursed Shore farming. I think its a real shame that such beautiful area (especially the starting zones) are only used for such a short and brief amount of time. Theres no replay value left in the zone after 100%.
I think something needs to be done about this. So to start off… THE GUILD STONE.
Ok so, HoM has its own instance. What about a guild? Imagine a Guild Stone, an item that is aquired (i think it should be aquired after a certain amount of influence) and is plant-able in the PvE world for everyone to see, and through the guild stone you could instance into a generic hall standard to all guilds but decked out in your own choice of colors as well banners displaying your Guild Emblem. These would be able to be placed almost anywhere in the world! Your favorite Vista? Your favorite Beach? favorite Little Hidy-Hole? On top of a Treacherous Mountain? Deep Underground? Who knows! YOU CHOOSE!
Now these instances would have other uses to, for both guild members belonging to the corresponding Guild Stone as well as others who may find the stone on their travels.
Guild Members would be able to travel instantly to the guild instance and use Guild Armor/Weapon, Check Roster Status, A Unique World Map (imagine the world of Tyria on a huge round table) displaying locations of other guild members currently, a vendor to use, Guild Bank to Access, as well as the Guilds Current List of Achievements.
Non-Guild Members would also be able to check your Guild Achievements out, see how many players are in the roster, and get a general preview of the guild. And if they liked what they saw they could apply to be in that guild right there!
Now for the Guild vs Guild part…
Ok so back in the Beta Event, they ended off with taking the Metrica Province and making it Hunger Games Battlegrounds. Take that same concept and introduce Guild Warfare. Imagine Guilds Fighting over Control/Influence of the zone. Other guilds could issue Declarations of Challenge to the guilds in those area and fighting more their Influnece (maybe a guild bonus for some “influence system” provided by how much control over that PvE area you have.)
Guild vs Guild Battles could actually take place in the PvE areas themselves! Almost like a mini-WvW. If a guild challenge was issued 2 guilds could send out maybe 20(or 30? or 40? different sized battles = different scale of rewards?!) of their own guild members to fight against an opposing guild.
It would be like a player-made event. Only applying to those who are representing and signed up to defend/attack in the Guild Battle. Suddenly the world is alot more lively. A player might see (or maybe get a msg) that a Guild Battle is occuring in their area and he might see 2 players battling it out in PvE gear right as hes running off to complete his next zone.
Its double the fun and a win/win for everyone i think. Guilds get to compete against each other for rewards/bragging rights. Players who dont have guilds are inspired to create them or join one. Not only would it be fun to fight in/participate, BUT U CAN HAVE AN AUDIENCE TOO!
It increases the amount of replay value of the PvE zone. Im never going to run around a zone like before because of all the way points and it sucks to see such beautiful environment not really explored and utilized to its fullest value.
But if i was with my guild fighting for Influence (maybe in the WvW off-hours) then of course i’d be running all over that 1-15 or 30-40 zone trying to fight/gain influence.
I think this would be a great way to add in some Server-Exclusive PvP, and everyone wants to be the best, lets give them a way to prove it.
Always would appreciate some feedback or insight from others! Tell me what u think guys. Thanks!
