So it’s not a strong argument but I feel that we should make the Shatterer stronger.
So far I have done it eight times each fight lasting from a few minutes with about 30 players to five when there was only 10 players counting myself.
This is the dragon shown on the ads and one of the faces for GW2.
Also now with the boss achievements which are amazing by the way, the one for this guy just seems to difficult. It may seem not but with a fight window time like listed above, the crystalizing happens only a total of once maybe twice per battle then waiting for another three hours. The reset timer is fine I feel for the dynamic event but make him tougher, he puts maybe one person in a crystal to five people per fight and they shatter so quickly even if you land most of the hits you don’t seem to get credit.
As a ranger lv 80 with focus in precision when shooting on one crystal with a short bow this should give the credit. I also tried a variety of attacks each time, The second and the 8th time I would use a longbow with Barrage keeping two crystals in the aoe range and still get no credit. I took into account maybe I was not hitting them fast enough but for 6 battles in a row now I stand there not shooting the dragon keeping to its side waiting. The crystallization prison happens, I shoot repeatedly at the crystal clearly first with maybe another person and boom no credit if I don’t land the last hit it seems.
After all these attempts at it and only getting credit for legit 3 crystals all in the same battle of the small group of 10 which was my 5th attempt, I feel that this dragon really should be a tougher battle. Heck it would be able to stop the dragon farming considering it happens so close together and you can run from one dragon to another usually twice a day with the timers.
Now for a few suggestions I thought of,
1. The shatterer crystallizing players should be more dramatic since the npc shouts out about it. Instead of having it be such a joking matter when he puts a small amount of players in a few crystals, make it an aoe effect. Anyone within the radius of the dragon as in being able to not see him fully so say from the broken structures around him could become a giant crystal. It would still be a prism but that would make a lot of people fear meleeing him and make a bit of a challenge for the 50 zone.
2. Have him move around or create a kind of defense, it is strange to have him stand in one spot if he does not create any form of defense than a few mobs. In Jormag we got burning ice and shields of ice, in Tequatl we get bone walls and giant norns that walk and explode, the Shatterer could be a crystal wall….or even a cocoon of crystal it seems like the type to wrap itself up in crystallizing skin and claw its way out recovering a bit of hp. The stunned healing factor with him bowing before us makes me laugh for some great photo ops but that just makes it even more disappointing to see him let us punch him in the face, he didn’t lose a wing or anything he just decides to kneel after crystallizing a lot to gather hp that doesn’t even seem to be a productive form considering the mobs he is facing.
The other ideas I had were simple ones but not really needed which was to make the lieutenant dragons that form near the end come during 2 more hp level points. This would make it indeed tougher since most panic and do not focus on the dragon. The other was to actually make a battle where the 3 dynamic dragons would come together for a huge battle. Would be an amazing event to have Jormag, The Shatterer and Tequatl all fly to orr once a day to attack the pact. If Zhaitan was getting so scared of us and was starting to send hordes of risen and giants to our doorstep I could totally picture him calling at Midnight server time for a night attack on the fort from his three big guns.
