The Sky Realm
Just one question:
How would you implement both JP and flying mounts, when you could use flying mounts to fly straight to the end?
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
flying mounts are a terrible idea. They completely destroyed any sense of world exploration in WoW, and would do the same to this game.
I don’t even want to think about how badly it would effect the sense of wonder players have with the world and all the little things you can find in it, when all you have to do is fly wherever you are going. Not to mention, jumping puzzles would become obsolete, as well as all the little vista challenges.

Flying mounts will not be able to land or fly on each and every place.
Imagine a castle on a floating land. The dragon you ly on will be shot by the castle’s protectors so it will need to land in a further place and the player will need to go on foot fighting mobs to get to the castle. The jumping puzzle can be inside or outside the castle.
Another idea will be two or more layers of floating lands which can’t be accessed by the flying mount due to the strong winds surrounding them. The players needs to go on a jumping puzzle form the top land to the lower one
Flying mounts will be only for aerial fights travel purposes not for landing on jumping puzzles.
Here is an example

The Sky Realm will not be designed as the current land is. So it wont destroy the exploration feeling. You just need to use the brain a bit not just be a total negative

Ahh, fair enough.
As long as they couldn’t be used in land-based Tyria, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Of course they will not be used in Land of Tyria. its the Sky Realm – a total new map designed with these mechanics in mind which can only be accessed by some asura gates in Lions Arch. So there wont be any changes for how the game is now, it will just add the new things to it without interfering with the current land.
They have stated that they will have some “special things” with the flying boats we see already in the game, so my suggestion was only to give them more ideas on how to implement it.
I was “using the brain a bit” by thinking of the possible negative impacts that flying mounts could have on this game, considering what they have done to other games.
However, if flying mounts were completely unusable outside of this new “Sky Realm” then I wouldn’t have a problem with their implementation.
On the topic of the sky realm’s implementation though, I would much rather visit Cantha and Elona again before any completely new locations are created. There is alot of lore surrounding the fate of those two continents over the last 250 years and, as a long time GW1 fan, I very much would like to explore those two historical places before any sort of new realm with no current lore behind it.
More than likely any realm like this would be implimented in the mists, not the skies above tyria. I say this only because except for Metrica Province and Caledon Forest, when you look up into the sky, there’s nothing really there, except sky, lol.
People look GW2… don´t even know what is GW1 about, their lore and their world.
Some things can be awesome, but will be a big lore breaker.

The wizard’s castle IS in the SKY from what I can see. and its not in the two zones you mentioned
There are lots of floating pieces in kryta. But it´s not SKY REALM, just how physics works in a magic environment.
A Mists realm was more lorewise, but we have fractals…
