Guild Wars 2

For what ever reason, the chat window in GW2 is way less easy to work with than the one in GW1. Often when typing, I suddenly find myself opening the guild panel, inventory, hero panel and everything else in the middle of a sentence. It is also a pain to select the right chat-channel, or to click the whole window away and continue playing.

Can the chat window perhaps be looked at, and improved?

I have this problem all the stinking time…

The chat window is bad. Clicking on the game window should move me out of chat the same way that hitting escape does.

I hear ya. Horrible. I wish there was a way to lock it for whatever chat you are in. I am always right clicking and changing Map back to map, etc. Pathetic.

I’ve also noticed that if you have the Black Lion Trading window open, the chat can sometimes become locked, and you find yourself unable to type anything in the BLT menu. It is as if the chat window refuses to let you type anywhere else but in the chat menu. Really bothersome.

I sometimes start linking the skills I want to use in chat instead of actually using them, but I’ve never hit the chat button before. I also see this happen to other people a lot, is there some combination of keys that does this? If so, it should be removed or made optional. Probably some Shift/Ctrl thing.
