The helper’s reward system overhaul:
This system will reward players for helping other players get their achievements and completion of dungeons. The idea is to make this a positive thing to go after, but to avoid exploits of easy grind-runs in story-mode.
With a few changed this could also be used for new players in other areas of the game.
Two groups in one:
Right now when you complete a story-mode dungeon / get your achievement – you will get a one-time reward as well as unlocking the explorable mode of said dungeon. The second time you complete that dungeon you will not get a reward, this makes a lot of players reluctant to spend the time helping others get through.
By making up a group of achievers and helpers which will work a little bit like the sidekick system this can be worked around.
Achiever:
This is the person going after the achievement and the dungeon completion. An achiever can mark another person as their helper if this person has completed said dungeon.
This will grant the helper a reward by the end of the dungeon (when the achiever- achievement trigger) which can not be received without at least one achiever in the party.
Helper:
To be a helper you must have completed said dungeon in story-mode and to team up with at least one achiever. You can be the helper of several achievers in one run and your reward will increase the more people you help.
Extra bonus:
The achiever will also get a small extra bonus for each achiever he brings with him, this is to prevent the choosing of experienced players over new players needing the dungeon completion.
The same principle will apply to a helper for bringing more achievers with him on the dungeon run.
Rewards: [debatable!]
Helpers: Will earn 30 dungeon tokens for helping an achiever and will receive 10 extra tokens for each achiever beyond that – with a maximal amount of 60 per day and dungeon.
Achiever: Will earn normal story mode reward as well as 10 extra tokens per additional achiever in the party.
Terms and rules:
Upon entering the dungeon all group members will get a message of how many achievers and helpers there are in the group. An option to accept and enter or decline and stay outside. This is to avoid misunderstandings or people trying to pass as one or the other.
(unpleasant surprises are not needed)
[debatable!] The cut-scenes in this type of group-run can only be cancelled if the achiever chancel’s it. This is to avoid speed runners leaving new players behind or pushing for them to skip them.
[debatable!] The achiever must be in the group from start to end and can not just change character at the very last boss. This is to avoid for exploits of the system where only players with alts get a benefit from it.
A player can maximum received 60 dungeon tokens a day (24h) from running the same dungeon. This applies even if he/she run as both achiever and helper in that dungeon within this time-span.
Question:
Should there be a dungeon-cap of tokens or a token cap from this system. In other words should you be able to help and run as many story dungeons as you would like or should you be able to benefit from this bonus only once a day.
Should the rewards be changed in some way?
Thanks for input.
