The issue with Badges of Honor
Seems like everyone is getting their badges just fine…
LOL don’t always expect an answer within an hour, most ppl not even homd from school/work yet
But yeah i agree, specially the one with missing the loot bag, im sure i missed a TON of them over all my time playing, maybe also have dropped badges go directly to your inventory, not having to find the lootbag first
It always seems weird to me that after completing the monthly 50 WvW kills, I end up with only 2 badges of honor. I barely get any bags at all, and even if I do they’re hard to see or notice most of the time.
i agree that bags are lil messy and most of the time during fight i run around so it’s not easy to pick em or to even notice when they drop
badge drop rate is not so bad
Would be nice if they made WvW loot automatically go into your inventory purely for the fact there is so much happening around and you can get wiped in seconds depending on where you are. PvE carries the luxury of looking around and taking your time, WvW does not.
Actually, most people do not complain about badges because they probably do jump puzzles for them. Each jumping puzzle in borderlands give 4-6 badges of honor and eternal battlegrounds gives around 15-20 badges of honor. You can do this for EACH character every 24 hours. So that’s (4-6*3 + 15-20) * 5. I got 500 badges in less than a week during early hours/late hours when most people are up and warring about. The only realy problem is gankers who just camp these puzzles and try to stop ppl from getting them. But it’s probably the easiest way if you don’t run into enemies. But yes, agreed drop rate should be better; but just wanted to say the best alternative for right now!~

Oh, and for the time to do them…uh, it’s about 5-10 min for each borderland puzzle and 20min to an hour for the EB puzzle due to falling. Once you get used to it, you can probably do borderlands in 7 minutes and EB in 20-30min consistently. I just did borderlands because EB was just too long.

Badges are a reward for engaging in WvW, I don’t think the current “do the jumping puzzles” solution is enough. The puzzles are there to have something else to do, not to be the main source of badges.
We should be rewarded with currency and WvW prices for completing WvW related objectives.
I’ll admit I’m not much of a pvp’er, but the fact I’ve planted the pole into multiple people and only get 2 badges is disheartening. Badges should be auto-loot.

Right, I agree. I was just mentioning as an option to help people collect badges with the current system, but for the future mayb—tough objectives such as taking down keeps to earn badges sounds pretty legit.

Lets hope this suggestion is heard and it doesn’t get lost in the forums. It could really help the overall feeling of reward we get from wvw.

Besides the way they’re rewarded seems very unfair to me, at least from my experience.
For example I’ll put 2 scenarios that I’ve seen the most when it comes to honor badges:
Scenario 1: I engage an enemy and do most of the damage to kill him and then some other ally comes and finishes him. If im lucky I’ll might get a loot bag, and if I’m lottery winner lucky I’ll get one honor badge.
Scenario 2: Somebody else kills an enemy and I did little to nothing but then come along and finish him, I’ll almost surely will get an loot bag and the chances that there is 1 or even 2 honor badges inside are pretty high.
Seriously I get a better reward for running towards a downed enemy and pressing F than by actually killing him?? C’mon.
I suggest this whole system to be changed into something like the DEs fights, where if you do X amount of contribution to the event you’ll get a bronze, silver or gold reward. The same thing could be applied to WvW, according to your contribution you should get 1, 2 or 3 badges from a kill or capturing a tower, keep or camp.

well you can get about 20 badges a day for doing the 2 jumping puzzles. they arnt that hard to get and no you dont get a loot bag if you finish someone that you had no part in killing

Jump puzzles shouldn’t be the way people obtain these Badges.

I get my Badges just fine. Some days i get 10-20 in a few minutes of killing, other days it takes a whole day to get that much. The low rate for them makes the Invader gear and Gift of Battle that much more special. I like it the way it is. I do wish, however, that freakin loot bags were auto loot. Hate having to spam F after a big fight, or missing a bag because someone died after i’ve walked away so it’s at my feet, but I ran past so yeah.
They need to be rewarded like karma is it’d solve so many problems.
