There should be a dragon timer for zones that have them.
They arent on a timer though. They are linked to DE’s around them, so it is impossible to detect when the trigger DE will be pushed to the state that a dragon appears.
Maybe Arenanet could make the state of the Metaevents visible from anywhere in the world/zone, but that’s about it
This is an awful idea . this would cause a flood of people to hit the zone all at once which just isn’t needed . Just turn say or map chat off in those zones if you dont want to see people asking .
they are on a timer…….on my server people broadcast to the minute how long until next dragon spawn……and its accurate. yes there are event chains, but they seam to be on a timer.
I wish they made the chain timers more random and the events bigger. Dragons shouldn’t be that previsible.
Put a timer on and people will just hop 1 minute before the boss then go away right after the event to get other bosses.
The last thing i want to see on my screen when i enter a new zone is
“OH HEY THERES A DRAGON SPAWNING IN XXX”
At least with main chat i can turn it off, and dont have to look at it.
This would just completly ruin the surprise/fun/immersion of it just happening when your around
Meh. It was a just a thought.
If you want to be there for the dragon, join the event chain. That’s what they’re for. You will get no support from ArenaNet to bypass this so you can arrive only for the most profitable section of the event.

Hardly anyone does the event chain, they all wait at the dragon spawn location and expect other people to do it for them.
I agree, don’t say “lolol turn /m off” I don’t WANT to, the majority of people in /m are sensible, funny, and helpful.
and believe me, I’d have my immersion broken less by a “The Vigil are planning another assault against the Shatterer, they plan to begin in xx:xx:xx” than 50 people spamming chat every 5 seconds.
and don’t say “but then people will just jump on for the event” they do ANYWAY.
the spawn rules are obvious
Shatterer’s pre-events start exactly 3 hours after he was last killed, tequatl lands exactly 2.5 hours after it was killed, and I’m not sure about CoJ
there is no surprise, there is no fun, there is no immersion, the morons on /m spoil it the second they ask for the dragon time, at least if it had a timer, people who hadn’t done it before wouldn’t be spoiled until they reached the part of the zone that it was in, instead of it being ruined as soon as they enter the zone
