Northern Shiverpeaks Night Crew
Os Guild

Hey guys,
Just really wanted to put down a few of my thoughts that should ultimately lead to suggestions.
I’m pretty sure we can all agree that GW2 isn’t perfect.
I personally think that its as if Anet has just gotten this fantastic engine and amazing graphics, and sort of wasted it.
The games pretty shallow, I honestly have no caring for the storyline whatsoever (especially the final boss). Its just like they slapped some story over the top of everything else.
I like this Dynamic event idea, but seriously most of them aren’t really dynamic. So undynamical in fact that there are plenty of bot farms and that speaks for itself.
I mean, today we (my guild) were being boring and running dungeon routes (to get the 5 only sets of actually decent armour in the game) when we came across a sub-boss in Arah. Yes thats right, not even a real boss. That specialised in and I quote “Extreme damage at long range”.
I mean seriously Anet what were you smoking when you thought of that one. This sub-boss can hit you with a spam skill at over 1200, (your max range) with 50k damage. Instantly killing anyone.
But moving past all that and back to the main point. Why isn’t there more content in the game? You’ve had years to do it. I’m an old GW1 player and I heard about GW2 a long long time ago. So you’d think once the player hit lvl80 it wouldn’t be a complete snorefest. Seriously a locked skills bar with only a handful of optional skills to choose from? I think you must be having a laugh. What on earth made you think anyone would be happy with that. Nearly all Melee players use exactly the same skills in combat. Theres only a few good sets of armour and weapons. Most people use magic find (which I honestly think doesn’t work yet) and most people are in a big alliance associated guild. You’ve essentially made all GW2 players clones of each other.
I’ve even gone and decided to build a large communal guild to keep me occupied. But because of that GENIUS idea in which you can join 5 guilds very few players have even the slightest emotional attachment to their guild. And even more just make their own 3 person guilds and never join another.
Its really uncool and brings nothing like the joy of GW1. Sometimes less is more guys.
So I suggest that you hire more staff to feed the game some lovely new code that’ll make it nice and fat. Because its like a malnourished skeleton at the moment.
Oh and please give us the option to kill Trahearn (or whatever his pompous face is called) at the end. Seriously no one knows who that guy even is.

amen to that.
definitely needs more content. more quests and fun stuff to do that just running around the map getting the POI’s and the vistas.
More sets of armour and variations of armour looks etc.
And definately make the crafting more doable. At the moment its impossible to level your crafting up as you level your character. the number of required mats is way too high at low levels. at high levels yes that would be fine but make it easier at low levels so you can craft your own gear as you level up.
And there definitely needs to be some sort of role playing in dungeons. At the moment its every man for himself. there’s not really a sense of teamwork. Perhaps make the support classes more supportive and the tank classes more able to tank rather than getting owned as soon as you come in close range with the boss.
Also another main thing that a lot of people would be keen on is the ability to change your selected order. either that or making it possible to join another order after one quest line is finished.
Chur
Just a few questions, since I wasn’t around for the launch of GW1:
1) How much content did it have a month and a half after?
2) How many Armour sets / Weapon skins did it have a month and a half after?
3) What were you doing a month and a half after?
Also, the Dynamic part of Dynamic events refers to that their success or failure depends on players being there, and if there isn’t anyone there to do the events, then they happen anyway.
We’ll also be having a content patch now soon (October for Halloween, and November for other stuff I think), so more stuff to do.
I’d personally say give them some time to refine things, learn from mistakes and improve since no-one gets things right first time.

Particularly the Bonus Teams section.
They just need time. Time fixing any “surprise happenings” they still have, time to generate and double check new content.
Sad thing companies don’t have infinite resources to work with it, huh?
i take my hat off to them no doubt. amazing game. just needs tweaking. hence the suggestions. i can survive for now. would be nice to see some of these changes in the next patch or something. but i know that wont happen as it would take alot of time to add these things
This suggestion forum has this purpose to let people say what they would like to see in the game on later expansions. Being a free game, no one can argue that they pay 15 USD / month to play it. So whenever you guys feel there is nothing to do in the game, let it be for a while, play other games or write suggestions here in the forum. Later, when other games are boring or don’t deliver content anymore, than come back to play.
This is the side -effect of the game on players who have more time to spend in it. The sooner you get to “whatever you want from it” the lesser things you have to do.
Personally, i am just leveling all professions one by one and I am not playing much in a day – 1-2 hours – and I still have the “carrot on the stick” ahead which is called lvl 80
What will happen when I get to lvl 80? I don’t know, but knowing that I have 8 professions to play (i bought the auxiliary 3 character slots) and reach lvl 80 I think I have plenty to do until the next expansion will come.
What advantages I have by doing this play style? Except I am seeing various stories of different race/biographies, I am also happen to encounter different parts of events that I haven’t done before because I wasn’t in there at that time.
The disadvantages? Well, if we don’t count the “long time to level up”, another one would be the repetitive feel of everything. But as I said before I play like 1-2h in day after work, so I don’t have enough time to get to see too much of that repetitive thing.
This is me, this is how I played most games. Others don’t do like that. They rush till the end and then they feel the repetitive nature of it, I only get used to in on the process of leveling and reaching the end. Both play styles lead to the inevitable feeling of “quitting the game” but the reasons are different: one for too long time to reach the end, other for not having what to do except repetition, after reaching the end.
