The A.I. of this skill is terrible, I’ve to agree with you.
The skill could need realyl an A.I improvement.

1) They should instantls attack everything hostile in their near.
Currently those silly summoned thiefs attack only something, once they take the first hit and stand otherwisel only stupidly around near you

2) If there is nothing to attack and some downed/dead ally is in the near, they help in reviving.

3) improve their dodge skills, for an elite skill these 2 summons are way too easily killed. The skill at all would be alot better, if these elite summons couldn’t be killed at all, they should be there their full 60 seconds of duration.
Why give an elite a 60 seconds of durations, when these 2 thiefs can be killed in like 5 seconds -.- Same change could be done then about summoned elementals from the Elementalist. They get summoned to be a help, these skilsl are of no help ,if they can be killed so extremly easy

4) Make this skill usable under water !! Seriously, if u summon then and enter then water, then can mystiriously follow you into water and swim.
But if you want ti activate that skill in water, its impossible?? Anet, seriously, fix this crap and make it logical!! Thief guild should be usable everywhere.
it would also increase alot the survivability of the total UP thiefs for underwater battles against classes like mesmers, necros or elementalists a bit

5) improve the A.I of thief guild to respond on combi finishers/combo fields. They should synergize more with the play style of the original thief, in regard of the players build.

6) add in more various thief guild builds that could be summoned. currently there only 2 different thief summon versions.
1 for melee combat using daggers and one for ranged combat using pistols.

Why aren#t there also summonable thiefs, that use swords and or the shortbow ??.

The summoned thiefs should correspond to the two wqeapon sets that the players uses.

So if my weapon sets for example are Dagger/Dagger + Shortbow, then I should summon a Dagger Thief and a Shortbow Thief with Thief Guild.

But if i have equipped for example Sword/ Dagger and Pistol/Pistol, then the skill should summon a Sword Thief and a Pistol Thief.

Thats my 2 cents about how this elite skill should get improved.
Also the Skill should get renamed into “Shadow Doppelgangers” and their skill design should get overworked a bit to look darker and more fitting to something, that you’ve just summoned ouf of the shadows

Man you got some really good ideas! I agree with all of them, I didn’t even consider having them being able to dodge, that alone would make them sooo much better. And if they use the players weapon set and synergize with combo fields then it would start feeling like a real elite skill.
