So far I’m really into the idea of Guild Wars 2 and I love how progressive it feels with so many features. There are still a few things I’d love to see at this point though.
Player Heralds:
A NPC that follows the player around and depending on the herald, can preform different services for the player. This is the player’s bannerman for the most part and would work as a pack mule and whatever else such as armor repairs, trait resets, a food vendor… There are all sorts of things the Herald could potentially do. Plus it should be a more customizable NPC where you can equip them with different looks and whatnot depending on what type of armor they might wear. The companion system in SWTOR was the only reason I played that game for as long as I did, because it felt amazing to be able to build a relationship with an in game character and also to have them do all sorts of stuff for you. It’d also be epic if they would help you fight and whatnot like the hirelings from the first game. While they weren’t the greatest, it was still helpful to have one and makes everything feel less lonely when the rest of your guild is away or sleeping because you’re up later than normal. :P
Guild Halls/Player Housing:
Simply for more content purposes. You could have a house to store character specific stuff so that way the shared bank could be kept more tidy, there could be a profession dedicated to making different bits of furniture and you could invite different NPCs over depending on your storyline to make the place feel more lively! With all the different locations and whatnot of the game it could make it interesting to be able to have a house somewhere outside of a big city and perhaps there is a discount for traveling to waypoints near the players house? A guild hall would be epic for tons of different reasons, plus there could be different spots where members of the guilds could frame items or post up their achievements. All of these things would be instanced of course so whichever guild you’re repping at the time will be the Hall you’d travel to. For houses you could type it a friends name to travel to their house or have a set list of houses to travel when entering the instance to choose from quickly. Collecting trophies and storing them in my house would be one of the most epic ways to level I could imagine.
Enhanced Armor Appearance:
It’s cool that the t-stones are in the game and whatnot but they’re not nearly as good as they could be. My suggestion is to remove Fine T-stones from the game and up the price and rarity of a normal T-stone to that of the Fine T-stone. It’ll now work so that you break down armor and can use the appearance the same way that you do a dye. You guys can still get microtransactions, maybe even more, and players aren’t nearly as restricted on space and time to play the game looking how they want. It’s hard to play my Sylvari because I can’t really get any of the racial gear while leveling since I’m going to be getting rid of it soon after I get it, so I’d have to waste whatever item upgrades I put in the armor or have human armor. :[
CoD Mailing:
Because I want to sell things directly sometimes instead of being ripped off. One cool thing that I like to do in other MMOs is gather materials for people to make money. It feel really epic to have “regulars” that ask me specifically to get their mats or make stuff for them at different prices, but it’s hard to be motivated to talk to people about doing stuff like that since there is no safe way to transfer anything. It’d be nice.
More Action Bars:
I like to be able to bind items to use and whatnot to bars, so maybe if we had just one extra action bar to put anywhere then we could put items like food or potions/tuning crystals to a place and other fun things like the transformation spheres or minipets. Just a thought. /shrug
I’ll add more if I ever think of anything. There is tons of room to add new stuff since you guys have made a pretty amazing world.
