World Bosses
“Hey come on guys, lets go kill this cool and sure-to-be-challenging world boss” has turned into “Hey come on guys, lets go auto-attack shatt’s toe for the next minute.” No part of any of the common world events requires the player to do anything but stand in a certain place and shoot. Are there more interesting, challenging world events out there? Sure. Will they ever be consistently populated when there’s a whole slew of much easier world bosses in the game? Nope.
Defiant
Defiant is the single cause of the preeminence of Zerker builds in high level PvE. Damage-Control-Support right? Well, offensive support requires no gear investment at all (might/fury/vuln are all non-scaling), so players can fill both Damage and Support all in one. What they can’t do is Damage and Control, because control weapon sets near universally have lower damage. Good thing Control is worthless right? Let’s blow our 20 second interrupt cooldowns five times in a row so we can interrupt one cast, which will be cast again four seconds later! Who in their right minds would give up a single morsel of damage for that? Would there really be something imbalanced about stunlocking a boss? If your whole party is going to invest in control, why don’t they get to be super-effective at it like they would be against regular mobs? DPS parties get to kill Lupicus in less than 60 seconds, but its wildly unbalanced if he gets so much as dazed?
RNG
This is controversial, but I’m going to say that there’s good RNG and bad RNG.
FotM did RNG correctly. You have a decent shot at getting loot that’s valuable and unique but not economically significant, and your odds go up as you invest more time and effort.
Open World does RNG incorrectly. You have a minuscule chance of getting something that vastly outclasses any other drops you have a shot of getting. Whether it’s precursors from chests, or rares from level 5 centaurs, it’s random and does’t grant rewards where they are due.

Why the hell hasn’t this been smashed into the ground yet? How does this even qualify as a dungeon? If you want people to grind a five minute event chain, make it an open world event with high loot. Don’t insult us by calling this an exploreable mode path.
