I know there are people who don’t enjoy duels and getting spammed with duel requests but theres very simple solutions to that. You could simply add an option to disable duel requests so that people couldn’t challenge you to one.

Some people don’t like seeing the crowds of people dueling (for whatever reason…) so there could be designated places for duels in starter zones. Dueling was one of my favorite things to do in WoW and watching people duel was a very fun thing to do and it brought the community together in PvP oriented servers. It also allows people to test out builds and practice their playstyle. It’s a very important thing to have in any MMO that is centered around combat.

Right now I don’t understand why there isn’t dueling in Guild Wars 2. It wouldn’t be a hard thing to add and you most definitely don’t need to and shouldn’t balance around it. People who don’t like duels or getting duel requests could simply disable duel requests and it would be a win for everyone.

Arenanet, please bring one of my favorite pass times to this MMO. It definitely needs it.

100% agree. I never played WoW, but instead come from RIFT. Dueling guildies was so fun, for practising reasons and also for the banter/bragging rights. A designated place would be cool. This addition would only make the game better, in my opinion.

I concur, I would like to see some dueling to be honest. I don’t think that many will spam it to people nor do I see why dueling would affect others who isn’t involved. With the addition of dueling I don’t see why they couldn’t be able to add a decline all duels option for those who loathe it.

None the less, I enjoy dueling personally and would love to see it!

This seems simple enough. Since you’re both in the same area chances are your levels are going to be scaled anyway, so you’d only have to worry about towns. Then again, I’d hope a level 4 would be smart enough not to fight a level 80 in any place other than their starting area….

yes, yes and yes, it should have a dueling system, no doubt.

It’s definitively needed in the game.

At the moment it’s not possible to practice/test any 1on1 situation in GW2. Joining empty servers is not a solution because every time I do that with a friend to do some 1on1 it takes a few minutes until another player joins and start to interfere, even if we tell them to do not. 99% don’t care.

Yeah, even if it’s only available while you’re in the mists or something. Don’t see why it shouldn’t be allowed in all the cities though. Just give people an “Automatically decline invititations to duel.” checkbox.
