This is it, sorry
You can always feel free to come back to the game when you see it has somthing new for you. Either way you never know what they have planned in the future.
GuildWars 2 is just not the MMO >>I<< want to spend the next coming years in
Good thing you said that. See you later then.
I checked the wildstar game, it really looks better than this game, is it free to play?.
I’m not entirely clear on what the OP expected. I’m not aware of the entirety of what Anet promised. You only mentioned the grind. You mention not being able to put your finger on what made WoW better for a time that GW2 doesnt do. That doesn’t leave us any more enlightened than you.
As for grind, what did you expect? Without something, likely repetitive to take up the time, players would quickly have “Complete Freedom!” and they’d do only the bits of content that interest them and realize it’s gotten old in about a week tops.
MMOs need the grind. It’s inherent to the basic design. Before I bought GW2 I heard about Anet’s promise to eliminate the grind, and I dismissed it out of hand and didn’t believe it for a second.
One of the things anet promises, but doesn’t deliver, and something he didn’t mention, is that they claim to do extensive testing. You have to be careful to when you post stuff like this b/c thy take offense really easily and will delete and ban you from the forums.
But if anet claims to do so much extensive testing before they release an update, why is it almost every update is like a major game release full of bugs, and they only make the main game worse.
I actually TRULY believe this is one of their main problems (their are others), because who wants to play a game with all these little bugs that you have to keep working around and only make the game worse. Then when you find a way to get around having to deal with the bugs, it is technically an exploit and anet fixes that, but not the bugs. Meaning that now you HAVE to put up with the stuff that makes the game worse, instead of making it better.

its not something new he wants, its for anet to fix the game itself
and since they HAVE NOT (as of yet) fixed those things, and every month they release something new that only makes those things worse, its not likely to change any time soon

I find that there simply aren’t that many bugs, so I would deem the current rate of bug-fixes to be suitable as-is unless you’re an engineer.
However I find their PvP balance to be horribly iterated upon, taking months and months for minor changes to overall class problems and not assigning a lot of problems the proper priority.

Theirs plenty of bugs… trust me, if you dont, run the game off okitten phone connection and the occasional lag spike WILL show you how many things are constantly being handled by the server, even thought heir is over 20 gigs on your HDD, or you really are not trying to push the game that hard, which should be, but apparently IS NOT, covered by the extensive testing they claim to do. So their are plenty of bugs, much more than what their should be by anets own claims and what they claim their policies to be.
If you do extensive testing on anything else, you would not have these issues or bugs, unless testing is the only thing they do, and they don’t actually address the problems. But since i don’t work for anet, i can only speculate and i cannot say for sure, but actions do speak louder than words
Im going to move over to a MMO that really is looking very exiting, and fun, and most of all seems to have the things that people want in a MMO ’’WildStar’’
Bye.
The bugs are not the reason i feel this way, it is the way ArenaNet is treathing the game at this moment.
The Living story temporary content just doesnt give me enough satisfaction. They are trying to let us believe in their videos and articles, that the living story is so groundbreaking and new. For me it are just a few minor updates that are fun as extra in a mmo but not as main game.
I want Fun dungeons to do, great bosses and a world that gives me reason to go into.
I have said it a few months before and now say it again, ArenaNet you have a great world at your disposal, do something more with it.
Give people reason to go into the wild and give the players better and more organized pve.
The Guildmissions for example, where a good start but you need to understand that too enjoy guildmissions to the fullest you will need to have a big group and there you have the problem, first of all we cant even make a raid group so we have to sort out the whole guild in little groups, so much time loss for nothing.
Second, there is just not enough reason for players to join those missions. It is so hard to get a group ready to play those missions.
The rewards are not good enough for people to put effort in that kind of missions.
Another thing is your achievement system, it seems to me that you use this system more and more too get people do the things you like them to do. But this cannot be a good wayh to let people play your game in the long run.
The last months i am only busy to complete my achievement list, it is a checklist nothing more that you complete by grinding mindless content one after another.
The game has so many potential but it seems you dont know what to do with your own world.
Update the dungeons! every month you update one dungeon, give people better bossfight, make new mechanics like a variety of circles for example. Make bosses that satisfy people that clears them.
Create boss specific achievements for those new encounters that are not easy to complete and give a new armor set with those newly designed dungeons so that people have somethjing to aim for while playingf fun boss encounters.
That is one of my ideas but ofc there are many more to make this game more immersive.

Ok, well then this all makes much more sense and I agree with it.
Especially the bit about achievements. It’s a terrible way to coax people to do the living story. The achievement should be for achievements not “talk to the living story NPC.” and “play the game regularly.”
5 days ago I got my legendary and I got 5 achievement points for soulbinding it. The same day I got 8 achievement points for doing my PvE daily checklist. WTF
You know, OP, had you simply posted a list of suggestions on a suggestions subforum of all places, then other players may have actually sat up and paid attention to what you had to say. Instead, you went for a “I quit!” post (which isn’t a suggestion and is actually against the forum’s Code of Conduct) and then hyped up a rival MMO.
The fact you managed to post a list of suggestions the second time around doesn’t cut it. That list should’ve been your opening post, not a “GW2 sucks, Wildstar rocks!” post.

Therefore OP, to solve all this, just copy-pasta your second post into your first post edit.
fixd
the best thing about this living story is the ability to farm… but that means to grind…. which just isn’t that fun
Each of the living stories i have done, have had some issue that just seamed like you released something to make ppl want to buy gems and not to actually make game play fun or better…. and the last living story was horrible….. but for me that’s all the little bugs that they had all over the place… some of the ones are still their
Just seams like every time Anet release tries to release something for he gamers, the last person they ask is the gamers and the first one is their accountants/marketing
makes me wonder were their priorities lie
I didnt bring up WildStar to hype up a other MMO, i brought it up to give an example of a game that seems to put in everything people love about MMO’s
I Love GuildWars 2 but the way the game is going forward now will people get to leave for other games. That is why i brought up WildStar to let them see that I ( someone who really was so hyped for this game, i even got all my friends to play this game ect) is looking for other games.
That cant be a good thing because i really didnt want that, in fact i tought GuildWars would be my main game for the next coming years.
But the way the game is doing now i just dont feel like that anymore that is why i made this post. Not to hype a other MMO.
It is a fact that there are new players around the corner and if ArenaNet wants GuildWars 2 to survive they need to act quickly.
I’m not hating on this game but i dont wear pinkclasses eighter. Im just realistic.

You should check out Everquest Next too. Has some pretty sick features. Not out yet though
I would love if Devs check this thread and answers. They are too busy drinking champagne and enjoying the money they made on pre-orders tho. They totally don’t know what to do but instead of listening to us like they say they do they keep bombarding us with living stories and Salvage-o-Matic items ahaha
GW2 HAS A GOOD MARKETING PROMOTER, i just would love to play a game wich lived to the finest expectations like they sold me.
I agree with some of the stuff you wrote, like hearts feeling like a chore and jp’s are fun, but only once or twice. I guess the only thing you need is new land to lay tour eyes upon :) Gueens Gauntlet brings a lot of challenges (some easy, and some dreadful) that can truly test you.. but to me, a MMO is something you can do with your friends, so maybe a new companion can give the fire a spark :)
I’m torn – I agree with the OP, to a degree, but have 0 desire to play any other MMO. GW1 was my first online game that I played to a ridiculous number of hours. GW2 promised to be everything great about GW1, plus more. It isn’t. Everything it needs to be that is there, but instead they keep releasing content that’s nothing more than gemstore purchase grubbing.
Seriously, OP – I hope you enjoy whatever you do next.
Wildstar doesn’t appear to me. I get my WoW fix from a private TBC server, and TESO just looks like Skyrim with a monthly fee. I will be sticking to GW2. Who knows, hopefully something is released in GW2 that eventually peaks your interests again.
Until then good luck and have fun with whatever you play.
P.S. There’s more than 1 good game that can exist at once. No need to choose especially since this is free once you own the game – which you do. Just check back every now and then you may be surprised. Or at the very least keep up to date with the game release section on the GW2 home page.
Take care.
