Anet has said in the past that people don’t really do dynamic events. I think the reason for this is that, currently, the DEs don’t really help people along towards their goal, which I think, for most people, is a legendary weapon. So most people skip them. My idea is to make it so that, when you do a dynamic event, you get a token. And you need 250 × 4 tokens, each set of 250 from a different area, to make the gift of resolve (humans) the gift of technology (asurans) the gift of the dream (sylvari) the gift of fire (charr) and the gift of ice (norn). So, to get the gift of resolve, you’d have to do 250 events each in queensdale, kessex hills, gendarran fields, field of ruin and Hirathi hinterlands. And so on. The problem with this is that the asurans and sylvari basically share the same area. So I’d open up either Magus Falls, or the Magumma Wastes, and give that area to the asurans, and then give the sylvari Magumma forest. (ie, Caledon, maelstrom, bloodtide, and sparkfly) The ausrans would get metrica, Brisbane, and whatever areas are opened up. The norn get wayfarers, snowden, lornar’s, dredgehaunt and timberline, and the charr get plains, diessa, blazeridge, iron marches, and fireheart rise. Possibly, we could cut out the starter areas. These aren’t the only mats you might need, but it would give people an incentive to start doing dynamic events in other areas. Eventually, you’d combine 4 of the 5 (depending on the precursor) to get the Gift of Tyria. What do you guys think?

First, I like the idea, though it has some issues.
Second, the part about opening up new areas is going to happen likely sometime just after the sun burns out, so your primary changes need to be reworked a bit to focus on the few zones we have now.

I think there are many reasons that people don’t do DE’s. One of them is loot, or in this case, lack-of. The reward for finishing an event is not remotely close enough to get people who are after loot to want to do them. Heck, there is more profit in failing several events right now as it is.

Anet created a massive drought on loot from the start, thinking they could force people to their cash shop by making it next to impossible to obtain things in world. Now someone has woken up and made changes, unfortunately they’ve gone too far in one tiny direction, and the result is chaos.

I like your idea though, don’t get me wrong. It would be great to see some better reward tied into DE.

Thats a good idea, and would make people go to another areas. I used to see a zerg doing the harathi chain in kessex hills, and liked that a lot; but now everyone is in Queensdale farming champions to get stuff

Every other area in the game, excluding Wayfarer Foothills, looks totally abandoned. I heard that people are going to farm on Frostgorge Sound too, but haven’t checked that yet

Well, I know it’s not a fully formed idea. I figure that Anet, should they like the idea, has people far more creative than I, and they can figured the nitty gritty details out. I think this would force people into doing more dynamic events, keep precursors hard to get, as my plan requires you to complete 4k events, and that’s just one part. I think this is probably one of the best ways to get people to do dynamic events again.
