Items bought with tokens are soulbound. Not accountbound then soulbound upon equip, but only soulbound. I want to know the reasoning behind this. If I take my tokens to the bank, login with a different toon, and then buy something for that toon, it works. If I buy something with the character, don’t use it, put it in the bank, and try to use it with the other character, then it doesn’t work. This does not make any sense to me. What horrible thing are they preventing by making the items soulbound instead of accountbound and soulbound upon equip?

So today I bought two armor pieces for a heavy armor character, but I bought the light version by mistake. I paid a lot of attention to getting the right stats, but didn’t look at the class (light/med/heavy.) So I figure, no big mistake. My Necro has lousy armor and my Ele doesn’t have a set of power/pre/crit, so I could use it on either of them. No. The armor is soulbound. So my character bought two pieces of light armor that my character can never use, but only that character can use them.

So why on earth did ANet make them soulbound?
