I think that every class should have a full just-for-fun skillset after switching to town clothing (and no “weapon” equipped). Rangers can play with their pets or make a campfire, warrios can flex their muscles and whatnot, and Mesmers should be able to do some illusionary tricks (including what you said) :0

I found this suggestion in another forum and thought it was such a great idea I’d post in the suggestions. This would be very fun and make towns even more lively if implemented. Frankly I’d even be willing to pay money for this if (and only if) it was account wide so I could play with all my alts. It would probably get me to buy some town cloths as well to use with it.

Well, let’s think of some more specific examples:

Mesmer
Masquerade: Copy the appearance of your target for 30 seconds (friendly targets only)
Mezmerize: Summons a swarm of illusionary butterflies for 10 seconds.
Who needs real friends?: Summon 2 clones that copy your emotes. /dance !

Summon Violin: Create a illusionary violin that you can play on.

Ranger
Campfire: Creates a campfire that lasts for 60 seconds.
Fetch it!: Throw a stick. Your pet will retrieve it to you.
Pet: Pet your loyal companion.

Sounds of the Forest: Equip a flute that you can play on.

Elementalist
Let there be light!: Turn yourself into a living torch for 10 seconds.
Tesla Storm: Turn yourself into a living tesla coil for 10 seconds.
Elixir of Life: Summons a water fountain for 15 seconds.
Melt with the Soil: Same/similar effect as with the drill.
Electrifying: Summons an electric guitar that you can play on.

Warrior
Show what you got!: Flex your muscles and impress everyone.
Rage: Get angry. Run speed and jump height doubled for 10 seconds.

Pretty cool thought, and a good start. I wouldn’t advocate Rage for the Warrior though. That could actually be helpful outside of town, while not really doing much inside town. Town Clothes are supposed to be fun, not useful, remember?

A few more to add to the list.

Engineer: Tinker – pulls some tools and starts working on a small mechanical mini.
Thief: Count Loot – starts rummaging through a bag of goodies s/he “stole”
Guardian: Fire Eater – puts on a fire eating display
Necromancer: Sleeping Grave – lays down straight, crossing his/her arms while a tombstone appears at his/her head
