Hello, there, i’m going to put up some suggestions as clean as I can.

Town clothes and space.

  • Like in original Guild Wars, there were Costume Makers. When you bought a costume, you could delete it afterwards to save space in your bags, or bank, and whenever you wanted to, you could go to the Costume Maker and get your costume back, for free. The Costume Maker stored all your costumes for you. This should come back to Guild Wars 2. All your characters could pick the costume up, it was account bound.

Town clothes and combat.

  • In original Guild Wars, you had costume slots in your hero tab, that would cover your real armour. You could now do mission, dungeons, and fight in combat with the costumes, that’s something you should be able to do in Guild Wars 2 too.

The stepback from original Guild Wars.

  • The stepback from original Guild Wars are the transmutation stones. Guild Wars 2 who is a lot about looks and stuff like that, should not use transmutation stones. Guild Wars 2 should have appearance slots at the sides of your real set armour, and would give you the look of the armour you want, and the stat from the other. Even though transmutation stones surely are a really good way for ArenaNet to earn money from the gem store, I think there are a lot of better things to earn money on, like, more costumes.

It’s sad that you can’t use these costumes in combat, or even have them to cover the appearance of your armour, that’s something ArenaNet should really change, since the transmutation stone is an outdated feature for an MMO which is a lot about looks and appearance rather then the simple gear grind.

I think ArenaNet will earn more money if they changed how the system works, and let us use costumes in combat, but with our gear stats, than the current one with transmutation stones.

I really like the Mad King costume, and the Phantom Hood.

I agree, town clothes are pointless right now with the way things are. I don’t think transmutation stones need to go anywhere though, just make it so only town clothes can be shown over the top of normal gear, but still require transmutation stones to change the actual gear appearance. Put check-boxes on the town clothes items (they already exist on the helmet and shoulders so it shouldn’t be difficult to implement), and that would fix 99% of the issues people have.

Just as an alternative that might be more likely to happen than the Costume Maker. A collectable vault for costumes would make a huge difference, at the moment town clothes will take up a huge amount of bank/bag space. I have no idea why it doesn’t already exist, one exists for mini’s, why not town clothes? It would also mean you could potentially equip town clothes from the collectible vault too, similar to crafting.

I have no gripe with transmutation stones, but I do agree that a costume NPC would be a great addition. I like to play multiple characters, and I don’t get much enjoyment out of doing the same holiday event over and over so that each character can have the reward. At the very least, the items should be account bound.
