Even though no other player will see it, I would really like the option to transmute trinkets. I think it would add more depth to roleplaying and flesh out your character. There are many great flavor items available from karma vendors, but these quickly become useless as you go up in levels. For example, I roleplay as an individualistic charr warrior. Without going into too much depth, I have a connection with the Kodan. I would really like to have a trinket called Blessing of Koda, but it’s not max level and the stats aren’t working for me.
I saw on some forum that a guy was roleplaying as a charr Elementalist, who used his earth magic to help in mines. Maybe he saved the lives of some skritt while working in the mines and a grateful skritt gave him his pet rock? (this is a legit karma vendor item) He could use a variety of mining related accessories available in the game to help flesh out his character.
A very big part of roleplaying is just using your imagination, and that’s fine, but when you have something like an in-game item to anchor that imagination to the game-world, it just makes it so much sweeter
In Guild Wars 1, for example, we were able to dye our inventory bags. Nobody else was able to see it, but it was really cool to press I and have a set of colorful bags smile back.
I can see that somebody at Arenanet put a lot of effort into creating special karma vendor items. Why let all that effort go to waste ? I think this would be a very welcome addition to the roleplaying aspect of the game, and maybe even create more incentive for buying Fine Transmutation Stones.
