Transmutating any armor graphics to any other
It destroys the look they build for.
There are also major glitches when wearing multiple sets (before they disallowed it, mixing heavy medium and light armor would cause rather odd glitches int he preview window).
It’ll never happen.
I can understand them not allowing the transmutation of cross class armor, but taking away the preview is stupid, I see far worse graphical glitches wearing a top and bottom from different sets within the same armor class than I ever saw previewing another from another class.
In fact, I can only think of one single instance where there was a graphical glitch while previewing the armor for another class, and I’d previewed a lot of armor before they disabled it.
By the same token, they need to disable previewing weapons you can’t equip.

Then perhaps some new styles of armor graphics you can buy in the store to transmute your existing armor? I really want that death head helm on exotic light armor for my medium armor. It just looks far cooler than the medium armor one
The “graphics” are one and the same with the item object.
They’re imbedded within each other.
What you’re asking is like asking to take the space-window of Twilight/Sunrise and put it on a mace. None of the coding is designed to allow for that.

It’s nothing like that comparison at all. What you are saying is more like, you can’t use charr cultural armor on a human because it was never designed to be used by a human and thus does not exist at all. Different armor types however, fit all races just fine, the only thing stopping it being equipped is a class choice armor type allowed yes/no situation.
However, this will likely never happen anyway, and I personally don’t ever want it to. I just wanted to point out how different your comparison is to what he is asking for.

I really wanna wear the Koda armor on my ranger so I would very much like to see this put in.
I think usually this sort of thing isn’t allowed because of the potential for clipping or other graphical issues. There are already a lot of sets people mismatch stuff from within each class (I’ve seen people wearing stuff from four different sets) to get the look they want, and there are already issues here and there (minor in most cases that I’ve seen myself).
Imagine having to go through and make sure every headpiece worked with every chestpiece, and every chestpiece worked with every pair of gloves and legs, and so on. That’s pretty big undertaking (I think there are 37 sets? My rough math says the total permutations possible from those 37 sets is 2,565,726,409 [with 6 pieces calculating the number of permutations should be 37^6 right? or did I totally screw that up??])
And I just realized that’s just within one class, I counted sets but didn’t multiply by 3 to include all classes. o.O
As much as I agree, and would love love love to be able to cross class transmute. And I don’t mind minor clipping issues myself. Sadly I don’t think they’ll let us do it.
