Transmuting(light,medium,heavy) for the skins
I doubt they will do this. But I agree, there need to be alot more armor skins. I made a post suggesting more cultural armor skins, profession based armor skins, etc. I REALLY hope they add more armor skins in the near future.
Here’s the issue : Different armor types do not play well together.
Before they changed the armor preview, there was a lot of texture issues that arose when trying to mix-and-match types – this is why they first removed previewing other armor types, then when it returned, it only previews a single type at once.
I have a feeling that this is an inherent issue that won’t be easy to fix, and would require a lot to justify the developer time on this rather than something else.
Like Revodeel, I would rather just have more armor options.
Perhaps they just need to introduce more craftable armor looks by Tailors, Leatherworkers and Armorsmiths. I would be willing to spend Karma on that!

If you buy a skin armor then it should be just that a skin! A skin that you can use when ever on what you want, Im sick of buying things only to find out there are so many conditions to use it! Even with the Quaggan Back pack you have to give of something that helps you just to use it .
I dont think I will be buying anything else, because if I can’t use it then its just a waste of money!
Can’t even sell it to try and make up for the loss.

Adding more skins although would be cool. Does not solve the problem. Simply because I as a light armor profession would not be able to ware the cool heavy armor. I do not want the armor stats from the heavy armor. JUST THE SKIN.
I know that it may be trouble to implement, and it may screw up the lore if Mesmers are wearing heavy armor, and warriors wearing cloth. But come on. Lore should be in books, and roles should be in gamplay. Not the cosmetics.

Armor classes and appearence are part of the identity of the profession, just as usable weapon types and utilities are. Part of what makes each class distinctive. Taking away things that differentiate classes is not a good idea. Classes should become more distinct, not less.
And the idea of warriors running around in skimpy cloth tops while mages run around in chain mail is silly.
yeah, and now we get Aether Armor and medium looks perfect on my female Elementalist… WHY, OH WHY I can’t use medium skin on my light armor…
if only they start to think different something could be achieved. i agree that maybe it’s not that good if everything can use every skin, but why light armor must be all bikini or skirt or gown or dresses and cannot be leather straps? why all medium must be jacket or trenchcoat and cannot be suit or something different mean the pit fighter armor looks more medium than heavy…
and finally, why only heavy armor got the best look in the game? and even there why everything must be skirt or skirt like?
i wish the artistic department could just think outside these old cliche…
i as a scholar can wear only 1 pair of trouser… 2 since i’m a human, how sad is that?
