I know that titles are a big point of pride and all, but our two choices with Nameplate options are currently “Big Ball of Text” and “Who are you again?”. Decreasing the clutter under the Nameplate would greatly improve the no-culling experience. If we wanted to see what title someone had, we’d click on them.

But if you turn titles off, you won’t know that 60 people nearby have completed the prestigious Combat Healer achievement.
I think it should be taken further. When anyone is standing next to you a random achievement they’ve done should blink on your screen for the next 5 minutes in 72 point font. Also for the last minute it should reverse your controls.
Personally I’d like a toggle. Old type and new type. I’d also like for them to make the font size a bit smaller on the title text, and more so to present the enemy titles in a red-tinted color.
I do somewhat like this new appearance of titles though, and would probably leave it on, but the way it is presented could be improved and I think it should be optional.
Wohoo, I can now see someone has “Dungeon Master” title & is a free kill.
Kidding, get rid of title visible & show names if you`re that fussed about fame & fortune visibility in WvWs…
Who would have ever thought about putting in an option to turn off others titles before they rolled out this patch ? I find it totally impossible for Anet to have foreseen this problem…

Don`t you think it`s bad enough we already have to hold Ctrl to see Quaggon pearls (ooer), plants, veins etc already without having to hold Alt at the same time?
But then I actually wont be able to see those players who think they are being sneaky by hiding behind the tree in WvW with their nametag sticking out both sides of the cover!!

A shockingly bad idea. Please please, especially for us color-blind people, address this as soon as possible. No-culling WvW has been absolutely ruined for some people. Horrible.
Also why not just have a short title above invaders, Like “De” Desolation or just an Icon for that server. In large battles all that writing is insanely annoying and completely useless.

Agreed. WvW already looks like a label company CEO’s acid trip. The amount of text blocking the player’s view has effectively doubled. Please give us the option to turn this off.
Also please reduce the size of invader names, particularly when they die. The sea of text can make it hard to distinguish the living from the dead. The only information I want to see is the class of the enemy, but we don’t get that.
Well, people can already choose if they want their title displayed with their name, and you can choose if you want everyone’s names to be shown at all times. Turning off names doesn’t actually change that much of the game.
Make it optional for both the person with the title and whether or not people can see titles. Its just another thing to load ikittenerg but give those who care the option to see it.

Lot’s of people have been talking about how pets shouldn’t have name tags or how you should be able to turn off other players titles / guild tags. I think this should be in the game also, but it’s not even going to make a dent in the level of clutter and it’s real cause.
How other MMOs deal with this is pretty simple. You scale the size of the text based upon the distance. Right now it doesn’t matter if a player is 10m or 100m away from you, the name tag above their heads is the same size.
By simply having the name tags get smaller and smaller the further away people are to the point when you see that enemy blob running by the distance you can just about make out little red pixels above their heads, then straight away a gigantic amount of that clutter has been dealt with.
Culling fix is great, but your development team lacks the insight to create basic UI options such as, not show npc names, ambient creatures and moa’s ets. since when is every rabbit and moa on the map an enemy? yet if I want to find a loot bag I have to push a button to bring up the name. I don’t care what titles enemy invaders have! They have the choice to show them I want the choice to turn it off.
Where is the option to show guild names only? or how about Squad member Names? Come on guys your smart we know that you made a great game, but it appears none of your development team have an ounce of common sense.
It looks like you took the culling fix right out of the Aion fix for W v W culling. Did you guys miss their UI options to change the size of name plates? colours etc.
All they have to do now is get rid of toons in WvW entirely!
Instead, you float around as a small sentence. When you run into a wall of other red text, which is obviously the enemy but you wouldn’t know because you have no idea what is under all that crimson grammar, an instance automatically forms and you are all put into a spelling bee.

This option is a must. The most useless thing obscures what a pretty game GW2 is. I honestly don’t give a hoot that someone linked their GW1 account to their GW2 account.
