Hello.

Today, I saw a blue icon on my minimap that I hadn’t seen before. Turns out, it was someone who had purchased the Commander’s Compendium and was roaming around the Norn starting area.

I looked through the interface options, but couldn’t find any way to prevent these icons from appearing on the minimap.

I was hoping to suggest this feature. Spending 100g isn’t much of a qualification and I’d rather not be distracted by the baby blue icon whenever I look at my minimap.
If nothing else, it’s going to become a nuisance in a few months when more and more people have the 100g to blow.

I have to say I agree! …couldn’t care less about these people wishing to stroke their own ego. They have done nothing to “qualify” for this attention.

I completely agree. I saw one and I had no idea at the time what it meant… I literally started chasing the icon down thinking that maybe it would lead me to some really cool event. Luckily, they had disappeared and I decided to do a search for it. It’s pointless, and I don’t care if someone’s a commander. Please let me turn these notifications off, especially because I imagine in several months there are going to be even more.

yes please. i don’t want to have to see Commanders everywhere on my map. i don’t care who was able to buy a title. if i ever need a Commander i’ll turn ‘show commanders’ on.

Could always disable Commander flags outside of PvP as well, since I can’t imagine any PvE situation that would call for one.

The commanders are able to turn off their own icon and should be responsible enough to do so when they are roaming through PvE. However, it’d be nice to see a commander icon when some big event is going (ex. dragon fight). Also, I feel like commanders should also take charge in PvE raids – not only WvW.

I agree, there should defintely be a manual toggle for commanders on the map. At the very least remove them from the mini-map. I don’t need to see the direction of the commanders at all times, not even in WvW.

i agree what people should have the option to turn them off in their’s UI/HUD.

but FYI, people uses them either to show off or to recruit member to guild, which is what i to since its great and easy to recruit member this way.
