Underwater quests.
Join the party with the Ele’s. I think we’re the worst UW classes next you Thieves. We need some buffs or something….I’m switching all elements to see what works best and ironically Water is the best damage and that’s by a smidgen. xD
I dont know if we are the worst. I can survive three times as long as other people underwater but the damage is just ridiculous
What bugs me most about it is that my guardian pretty much becomes useless underwater. I lose all of my good elites, half my healing options, and ALL of my symbols, which my build is centered around.
I wouldn’t REMOVE underwater quests and combat, as I rather enjoy them in concept. A better solution would be to simply readjust the abilities of classes underwater, some more heavily than others. Give the guardian his symbols back, make them spherical fields centered on the guardian’s location.
Although, on the other hand, engineer underwater is absolutely GODLY if you use grenades.
I understand underwater events but hearts should not MAKE you go underwater.
I personally hate it, I dont like fighting underwater, what baffles me is why you made the skills so underpowered. Fair enough, as a thief I have a huge amount of evasion with the spear but it just doesnt deal enough damage. So it takes me way longer then it should to kill a monster.
I dunno, if you ask me you keep talking about us playing the game however we want to yet I cant complete this quest without going into water.
Maybe other people like to go underwater and they are angry because there are so few hearts thats underwater. Why would they remove it just because some people (like you) dont like it?
I hate underwater quests too.
The environment is interesting and thank god they didn’t make you swim slowly like in other games. But the fighting mechanics are awful.
Too bad too since Anet spent all this time/money building an underwater world which few players want to experience.
I think they need to make the underwater fighting skills more like the above ground skills for the profession.

I think there are more players that like the underwater features than those who dislike it.
Underwater combat is part of the game and I like it. Bugs, or balance issues are to be taken lightly when you judge how much you like certain aspects of the game. It’s like saying that you don’t like sPvP because warriors are too strong, or your class is too weak ( just examples ).
In my honest opinion, some hearts should force people to do underwater content because they will be required to be underwater during many events, dungeons, in WvW and in sPvP.

Love underwater events and quests, I enjoyed playing Descent back then this feels like an improvement from the 90s.
Abilities however needs tweaking, my damage as guardian is already low as it is (mace sheild), and I’m like doing 1/10 of damage underwater. Abilities restriction brings more forethought for players and they can all adapt to change, but the damage overall is just pathetic.
I think everyone is just plain terrible underwater.
I do 1k per hit with my shortbow and 3k-4k per hit with my longbow.
Underwater I do 75. Wat.
I like the underwater areas, but I absolutely hate fighting underwater.

To the OP: If the topic was just, “I hate certain hearts” I’m right there with you. There are a few (Jotun bargaining, Ash legion sneaking) that I really, really hate. I wish there were optional hearts that granted bonuses for completion but were not required for map completion.
As to underwater hearts, I haven’t come across any I dislike, but I’ve only completed about half of the zones. I love the underwater areas, and I do not mind the 3D combat. I primarily run an elementalist and greatly enjoy my 20 skills available. I switch attunements constantly to trigger the skills best suited to the current situation. Trapping a shark in an electric cage is especially fun.
I despise it when an enemy gains “Invulnerable” for apparently no reason. This is especially bad when fighting a Veteran and they’re nearly dead when this bug kicks in.
I hope the 3D underwater combat can be improved to satisfy more players, and I hope it leads to aerial combat eventually.

I’m also a Guardian, and I have to agree. I love going underwater – one of my favorite quests so far was under water. Going inside of the little tubed housing is a lot of fun and I love talking to the creatures. But fighting is pretty horrible. I don’t mind fighting underwater – in fact, I like the idea. However, like someone else said, pretty much all of my skills are useless under water. I’d just like the battling to be improved.
Otherwise, please don’t get rid of these requirements. It adds variety to the heart events, and I really like it.

That is what takes the fun out of underwater questing.
Anyway, i dont know where you get the idea more players like underwater, judging by the number of players doing underwater quests/DEs vs above ground, I would say very few like underwater. I
Personally I think it is cool the first few times then it is boring. The environment has far less variety than on land.
