Unidentified Dyes drops are becoming too scarce
Agree
Drop is lower, prize is way higher.
Still not first time when they changed value X = 10 to 50 and than fixed by setting value to 5…
They are even more rare now than before the november 1 patch. Why?

Game over
They may be trying to compensate for the over-abundance… I just hope it’s not permanent. I don’t even want to think how much will Abyssal dye be worth if it stays like this.
I’m still holding out hope that ANet will eventually make unlocked dyes account-wide instead of per character. If that change goes in, you can bet dye prices will tumble a fair bit.

Ummm, that will hardly happen… what about dyes that are duplicated on many characters between accounts? The guys who bought 8 Abyssal for each of his characters won’t be happy. It would have been nice but, sadly, I think it’s too late.
If dyes were account-wide from the start, I would have welcomed it. As it is, I think it’s too late and not necessarily a bad thing. Still, you are correct, unidentified dyes are way too rare now.
I didn’t get a single dye in about 5 hours of gameplay yesterday, so I agree, they’re too rare now. Put them back to what they were before the accidental drop rate increase, please.
Completely agree also there seems to be a serious bug involved with the November tampering with the drop rates that has severely affected the drop rates of Rares in general and completely broken the MF purpose. I have it on good authority by collecting data from multiple players who are experiencing the same issue that MF no longer functions at all. Anything above 30-40% MF actually reduces the quality of the drops to greys 10% only produces blues. It’s fine if more drops don’t occur but when your drop rate of rares from killing multiple types of mobs drops to 0 after thirty minutes of fighting whereas pre-november changes the drop rates without MF would normally render about 1-3 rares in a higher level zone, then there’s a problem. This is preventing people from progressing in the horizontal sense that we were promised would be the model for this title.
Please fix MF and remove DR from open world as the bots problem seems to be under control.
Simple fix to magic find : Remove. It.

5 hours only? I was on vacation from work and I played for 12 hours and not a single unidentified dye drop at all. I think the drop rate did change significantly.
agreed, its really really too rare for the fact that you have to collect so many of them :/
I read somewhere that there are 400 different shades. I understand that they want to make money and I am willing to spend money on the store, but I won’t waste real money to buy a dye in the store without knowing what it is. Fix that and also let me find more dye in the game!

There will always be people who will be worse off due to changes by ANet. Case in point: the upcoming change to make Precursors easier to obtain. There are a number of people who are grumbling that they paid hundreds of gold for their Precursor and that they’ve “wasted” their investment. At least with an account-wide dye change, it’s unlikely that somebody will have bought 8 Abyssal/Celestial/etc. dyes across all of his characters, and even if that happened, the amount lost is still nowhere near the amount the early Precursor buyers did.
I’m speaking as somebody who has probably 50+ dyes unlocked on each of 5 different characters, by the way, and who has a considerable amount of overlap already.

True, if they wanted to do it, there is still time to make few people angry. Still, I think they will keep it this way: if they make dyes account-wide, once you get all colors you stop buying dyes, and the mechanism brokes. Having to get them again for every new character makes the mechanism go on as long as you create more characters.
I think this current system is ok, but drop rate is definitely way too low after the last patch.
I’ve played for several days without getting a unid, but then I hit a luck streak, and got 3 in a day all being rares, so maybe they’ve raised the chance to get rare and masterwork to compensate.
