I just found out too late today that you cannot put on 2 ascended rings of the same type, because they are unique. 35 Laurels are gone. I soulbound the ring because I thought it was a bug. That’s a month of hard work doing dailies and monthlies. I am more than upset, but I don’t want to talk about it anymore.

I mean yes I didn’t look into the fine prints. I didn’t look though the wiki on Ascended equipments before I spent my hard earned Laurels on them. Some people might think it is my fault. Some people might say L2P noob. But obviously this issue isn’t mine alone, and a lot of players make this mistake. I personally felt that I just got trolled by the game.

I don’t care about the lore. Please allow players to put on 2 unique rings. Or give me a refund somehow. Thanks.

You can contact Customer Support to trade in one of your rings for the equivalent ring. It has been done before.

Alternatively, you could also upgrade one of those rings into the Infused version, but that would require you to run Fractals until you acquire the appropriate materials to perform the upgrade.

Currently, there is no system to do anything with the ascended gear you randomly get in Fractals either (can’t blow it up for mats, can’t put 4 into the mystic forge to get a new random one, and can’t sell it as it’s account bound). So why not make a vendor that will let you trade ascended gear in for half it’s value even? For example, trade a ring into the laurels for 15 laurels.

I know it won’t completely solve buying the wrong one, but this would at least get you half way back, and give people who have extra useless ascended gear a way to trade up a bit too.

Either way, this happened to a guildy of mine, and anything to fix the problem would be great!

Don’t spend Laurels on rings …. go do Fractals of the mists…. save laurels for Necklace and infusions…

Yeah … pretty much the same happend to me. Since I am not doing Fraktals or anything PVE-related, the PVP-Daily is the only possibility for me to get Laurels and better PVE-gear for future Funtimes outside of PVP. So I thougt by doing my Daily I’d have a good chance of getting most of my ascended stuff. Turns out I’ve never been so wrong. I wasted 35 Laurels on a ring I already owend and I had the great idea to soulbind it instantly because stuff wouldn’t dress itself on the first try. Why is this? You can wear two different ascending rings with the same stats. You can wear the same rings in general, why can’t you wear the same ascended rings? Is it because one gives you like +4 to power (with infusions) and +8 would be to strong? This issue ruined my motivation for PVE completely. I’ve stopped trying to get full ascended gear now and I’m probably gonna wait until I get the crazy cat tonic.
