Unlocking Personal Story Hard Mode
This suggestion transforms GW2 personal storyline into a similar mechanic with the GW1 missions, letting players replay every mission in their storyline plus experience another story lines while helping other players.
More then this, may transform the simple storyline missions into mini-group based instances with the addition of the hard mode.
Unlocking Hard Mode only at the end of the storyline creates incentive to play and finish your character’s storyline
It seems no one ins interested in replaying the personal story mission

I’m interested! This seems a very nice idea, I hope they’ll implement it!
At the moment the rewards for doing the story aren’t very good. For example: Yesterday I did a lv. 7x story mission and received blue items. It would be better if the reward is a Tier X crafting material based on difficulty and length of the mission or maybe a lodestone if the mission is in hard mode. Thank you for reading!

I like this idea Ronah! Like you said, “In this way we catch two things in one shot: mission re-playability plus a new mode which might require a group.” And of course I am all for better rewards, a title, achievements and weapon skins etc. for completing hard mode.
I would support this if Anet can put some effort into redesign some of the missions so that they are more fun in both Easy and Hard mode.
A lot of the later Personal Story missions are not fun currently. This especially true if you play a weak solo profession. With weak profession, you basically corpse run until you finish the mission. In making alts, i usually “mob train” through the mission because they are so boring to fight and are not required to trigger the cutscene.
If Anet can put in effort to redesign those missions and give us Hard Mode, i am all for it.

…I really miss Hardmode from original GW
i like this idea, but i think hard move has still gotta be do-able solo, maybe make the npcs more durable and actually do more than 0.1% damage instead of me having to kill everything infront of trahearne and he take all the credit..
The personal story should be replayable, it’s just such a waste of content.

So, they could get rid of the dodge limit of 2 bars for these missions and let us have more hard modes available
Good idea!
Personally I’ld like to see replayable story and dungeons with dynamic party sizes.
Then let’s also add hard mode in dungeon (story & explo) and even hard mode in instanced version of the maps you can only enter with a small group (similar to GW1’s vanquish).

Here are some names I have thought for these hard mode types:
Ok we start with current mode which is normal mode
1) Normal Mode
2) Hard Mode
3) […race based name for more immersion…] Mode
4) Corruption Mode
Here are the names for the […race based name for more immersion…] Mode
Human – War Mode
Norn – Hero Mode
Charr – Gladiator Mode
Sylvari – Nightmare Mode
Asura – Golem Mode
Note:
All hard modes will be unlocked after finishing the storyline in normal mode.
There won’t be the requirement of beating Hard Mode to unlock […Race name…] Mode and so on. This will give the players freedom to play and try them randomly like a dungeon
Hard Mode will keep the current game mechanics but for the next 2 Modes the mechanics will be altered so there wont be any dodge bar limit of stamina and the recharge/casting time of the skills will be reduced/fastened with 15% and 25% respectively
Hard Mode should be able to be done solo, but the other modes should require a part of at least 3 players and 5 players

You should not always believe others. People’s opinion is subjective
Playing the storyline you earn about 15 levels but as you are already lvl 80, you will earn 15 skill points plus you would actually learn a bit about the game’s lore so when a new “expansion” will come you will understand it better. You never know if the new story will be related to the end of this one so you will need to finish it before you can take part further on.
