Me and a few friends are casual WvWers, so we would join zergs or flip camps for a couple hours and even do some jumping puzzles. Along the way we picked up a few siege plans. We rarely use the siege plans unless it’s on a rare occasion that a Commander asks for it and we have the exact one in our inventory.

I’ve also read on the forums lots of complaints about PvE people taking up queue slots in WvW so they can do map completion and jumping puzzles and not contributing to WvW at all.

So my suggestion would be to devise a way to contribute without actively fighting. Which is having a server wide Siege Bank. People with excess siege plans can right click and “Deposit plans into siege bank” or visit the bank to do the deposit. This way all those plans non-WvWers get when doing map completion or puzzles will be put to good use and WvWer can spend less to get siege plans.

To prevent trolling, we can limit that only Commanders are able to remove the plans from the bank. That will also give the commander status another special ability. The bank itself can only be accessed at the home base, or even an upgrade item like the siege vendor.

Good idea? Bad? Feel free to add to this.

You can actually give them away to a commander. Just call out in mapchat that you have siege you want to donate. All you need to do is doubleclick the siege plan to get the box, and then use your swap weapon key to drop it on the ground. Any ally can then pick it up and repack it in to a plan for later use. This has been confirmed by Anet as the current intended method for trading siege.

It sounds like you’ve got a pretty big stock and any commander would happily take your plans if you announced you wanted to donate them.

That’s a good idea. I’ll contact a commander the next time I’m on WvW. Though I would still like to see this idea go forward as well. As this will also include people who won’t even bother donating plans, and just leave and probably destroy the plans. If the ability to donate or destroy the plans take the same effort, it’s more likely they will donate them?

Wouldn’t it be just easier to send blueprints via mail system to other players ? >.>

Sadly you can’t, they’re Soulbound.

Thats the point.. instead of making a suggestion for something too complicated, its better to go for just the much easier solution..

change blueprints and make them not souldbound, but also not sellable in the TP
That way people can just send them to other player via mail, if they like to do so…

Easier way to solve this, than making silly drop itemon the ground-games and as also too alot easier, than implementing extra into WvW some kind of commander special service…

Just changing 1 item is much lesser effort, but the same result in making the game more comfortable for the players.

I think devs mentioned there is a tricky bug that is preventing them from making siege plans non-soul bound, or even account bound. If they can fix it, that would be great too.

On top of that, most people who don’t usually play WvW wouldn’t know who to send the plans to. I’m not sure if they would put in the effort to even find out and send it.
