Please improve GW2 screenshots function by saving images to lossless quality .PNG format with unlimited colors for better quality. Currently, screenshots are using lossy quality .JPG format with colors reduced to sRGB range—which makes the colors look muted. The current screenshot quality is noticeably worse than how we see the game.

Use Fraps or Steam to take best screenshot quality.
Like i do i use Steam to take GW2 screenshots and it takes high quality.

I don’t use the in-game screenshot feature – it is just plain lossy and ugly.

I use SMAA’s .bmp screenshot feature, which actually captures the SMAA enhanced graphics I see (which is far better than NVIDIA’s FXAA).

If you check the properties of the GW2 shortcut, you can add -bmp in the target after “Gw2.exe”. like that

“link/Gw2.exe” -bmp

It will allow you to take screenshots in BMP.

The game used to support hi-res screenshots, which for me makes this all the more frustrating. They glitched occasionally and did a weird boxing thing with the picture, which is, I assume, the reason they took the feature out.

Only time I actually used the in game screenshots was when we could take those huge resolution screenshots.

I’m very disappointed that we cannot anymore. I didn’t mind the small glitches that much since I could work them out in or out of game.

Right now I feel that taking any screenshots is completely useless. Not only we don’t even have 1st person view, but they are always really ugly. I find that even with FRAPS as png, they come out uglier than it looks in game.

I’ve actually taken to logging into GW2 via steam so that I can use the Steam interface to take screenshots. They’re not fabulous, but they are higher resolution than the ingame screens.

Pretty please ANet, give us our hi-res screenshot option back!
