This is an idea I’ve had for a while.
I know it would take a lot of time to do, and there’s certainly no rush.
But how about this? Add exclusive voices to your characters, with the use of the total makeover kit?
Don’t get me wrong, I do love the voice work already adapted into the game, but some of my characters have a voice that just… doesn’t fit the personality I want them to have in my head. Make sense? Awesome.
Okay, now that we have that out, here is a means of doing it. Either hire voice actors or hold voice over auditions from fans. Fly winners out to the studio for a week or so (however long it’s needed), have them do their respective voices, and give them some Guild Wars 2 gear as payment/thanks. Of course, somewhere in the disclosure has to let fans they wont actually be paid, but it’d be a good foot in the door for people honestly looking to do voice work in games.
Now that we have actors, Set up a tab in the create a character section that can only be selected if you are using the total makeover kit. There is a set of 3 voices for each race/gender, and a short preview of each.
Of course, keep the voice already available in the game as one of the three options, but have two other choices available.
It was an idea, but I’d love to hear your thoughts about it. If the Sims can do it, so can you! Besides? How many MMORPG’s are out there that have such an option?
