Yea the LFG tool will have the most impact of any addition that has thus far been made to the game. But their priorities are…questionable. The tool will be best implemented if it also includes methods to advertise for open world pve/wvw groups and not just dungeons. If Anet actually cares about the “Living World”, this is what they needed months ago.

It works. 5,412,665 groups formed with this tool in the few short months it’s been out.

I don’t really understand the difficulty of creating an LFG system, but it really shouldn’t be all that difficult when Anet has multiple teams working on different aspects of the game. I can’t speak for Anet personally, but an LFG system is probably not on the top of their priority list right now with people complaining constantly about RNG, not enough rewards vs. time, and unbalanced classes.

There actually is one in game. It’s just not very good so no one uses it.

(you can find it under your Friend’s List, but like I said, it will be empty because everyone uses gw2lfg.com)

If you believe you shouldn’t have to use a third party tool to look for groups then fine. There are plenty of guilds in this game that will be more than happy to assist you with forming a group.

A LFG tool has been confirmed under the works, you can find all the information on confirmed developer statements with feature below here with this link:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upcoming_changes_and_features

There is also going to be a blog post stating all of the new features coming in late 2013, ArenaNet has kept promise with the last blog post:

The tool in game is restricted to your current zone only, and other ridiculous limitations include not being able to use it while in a group (cannot use to advertise LF more…etc).

As previously stated, we need a different tool to facilitate group forming for world pve, wvw, spvp, etc. Yes gw2lfg is serving dungeon runners well enough…but it is too narrow, and lacks convenience/wide reach of being in game.

That site is not an adequate solution. I run into more pugs that aren’t aware of that site than are.

Oh, I agree it’s not the only solution. But it’s a very good substitute until we get one in game.

And yes, I’m sure there’s a lot of peeps that don’t know about it, something like 95% of players never look at forums or fansites. So spread the word

But I don’t see it as that critical, I mean look at WoW – they went something like 8 years without one and grew their playerbase just fine without it.

Creating something which already exists, usually is a very low priority.

GW2lfg.com works fine and there’s absolutely no reason to put excess resources in replacing it. Maybe if it can be done in spare time, sure. I wouldn’t mind such a tool in-game but I understand why it isn’t and shouldn’t be a priority.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

I don’t think it is lower priority I just think it is more complicated then most people think due to language and other UI design/programming issues. This is part of the reason UI rarely changes once one is implemented. In this case though it is needed and it is coming. I for one will be really happy the day it comes as long as it is programmed correctly. Cross zone would be really nice.

I don’t know what about the tool is taking so long. The TP already runs off of web-like technology and www.gw2lfg.com has been up for a few months now.

So true.

Hell, what if they just had a button in game that would open your computer’s browser to a subdomain off their main site which ran an “official” version of gw2lfg.
