Can you just imagine the amount of misuse from money sellers, general trolls and of course ‘champ is up’ without any localisation.

I think a gem shop item should give you like some number of times to talk in world chat that way it costs money and people have option of turning world chat off. It would sell well and its not giving you edge I think other games have done this and it seems to work.

Making you have to pay to use it has another side effect ANET might like: It will drive up the price of gems at the currency exchange, because people will be spending their coin to get gems to access to the world chat.

With it being pay to use, I don’t know if I’d turn it off. Though turning it off must always be an option.

…. ppl still get cut over trolls and gold spammers. Its an mmo move on.

I do like the pay to use ideas. spend so much a month get world chat would be cool

Thats actually a kind of great idea but I dont like the thing that you can just speak a sertain number of times.

But buying or earning this item would be great. For example, you get this when you reach lvl 80.

World chat without a filtering system would be a total nightmare!! I’m already often forced to turn /map chat off because too many idiots are spamming their LFG/LFM. Can you imagine what it would be like with a global world channel? We would be constantly adding people to our ignore list.
We should have the possibility to
- instantly block messages containing specific words, like LFG/LFM
- automatically block messages when they’re being spammed x times per x period of time
We have add-ons in WoW that can do this kind of things, so we’re able to configure the game the way we want and like. I know it’s never going to happen with ANet, I don’t expect anything smart from them anymore, but at least give us some ways of filtering our chat.

Put it in the Trading Post, sell it in small doses. Anything that will support the game and is completely optional is fine by me.

Again, as long as I can disable that chat stream.
