WTB permanent character outlines
Interesting, but I think it may come down to how much impact such graphics would have on your system.
I’m a bit out of touch with this technology, but the way cel shading* in games used to be done was that the character model would be processed twice. Obviously this takes significantly more grunt than just showing the basic model.
Mind you, like I say, my knowledge on this subject is very old, and I will happily stand corrected if someone would care to explain the tech behind achieving such results in a modern engine.
*That’s what it’s called when you can see an outline around your character.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
I don’t think it has too big of a performance impact if none at all from what I experience… it would be an optional thing no doubt that some ppl like myself would enable because they like the look of it
*and since it’s already in the game I don’t see how it could have any negative impact, I’m no programmer but I wouldn’t be surprised it it was a matter of just changing a code line to make it available

It may not be as detailed as you have stated but I get pretty Kitten good definition in my armor’s. Then again I am running a high end physx card that can push out power house graphics.
Not that I am 100% sure on this but if this feature was offered in the game my guesses is your GC will have to be able to handle this, and seeing as mine is one of the top of the market as of 5 months ago and I am getting what I would consider 80% of what your implying and your not, you would have to upgrade your GC anyhow. Now I could be completely wrong just assuming from what I am reading and interpreted from your post.
But there is also a line that My self and most gamer’s would rather not see in development. At E3 last year they did a survey of how real they would like to see, the higher majority was found to say they want it to be realistic but still have the reminiscent of a game. Now weather that means one thing or another thing it is really in the eye of the developer, maybe they feel outlined definitions is crossing that line, who knows I am not by any means speaking on behave just throwing some info your way.
why is every1 talking about this feature as if it’s some new graphics option designed to rip your pc to shreds… it’s already in game, it already activates every time you character overlaps with another or with gathering points… it’s already in and it working flawless without any performance drawbacks…. we just need an always enable button for some ppl….
