Q:
…But that doesn’t mean I am one.
Q:
I have a guardian as my main, which I absolutely LOVE. But there’s one thing I can’t get over. The warrior, it’s so dull, and slow, and yes, it’s heavy armor, but there’s just something about the class that I can’t stand.
I may have stated this before, but the fact that warriors are so simple bothers me. No useful boons, the weapons are basic and (maybe even) expected of warriors to use, and most of all, the fact that the warrior has no helpful boosts or impactful secondary skills sucks. The only thing that seems to make the warrior useful is its banners, and the elite skill, hounds of Balthazar.
I chose to be a warrior because no one else wanted to be it in our guild and I felt bad, which I shouldn’t have, because I suck at playing them.
Any advice to cope? Or make playing one more enjoyable?
Hounds of Balthazar is a human elite, not a warrior elite.
Also I tend to think this may be an l2p issue, warrior has a lot of access to combo finishers, banners and shouts which all result in various boosts. with traiting can also provide quite a high party wide regen, etc
I only play the warrior as a physical dominance. I don’t like banners, and signets/shouts are kind of boring.
So, I run as a control physical build. I have hammer on one set, and rifle on the other (longbow for WvW). I always have Bull Rush and Stomp for utilities, because knockdown, AoE launch ftw. Healing skill is Healing Surge, Elite is the Signet (the others aren’t useful to me), and the last elite varies between the might shout and the immunity shout.
I agree though, all classes need more skills – including the warrior. 3 of their skill lines are passives or castable-passives.
